It’s been a couple of days since Joe Biden announced Kamala Harris as his running mate. I wasn’t really all that impressed with the decision. It was, as I said at the time, a very safe decision. It wasn’t bold. It wasn’t decisive. It was, afterall, a move made by a guy hiding in his basement. And that was pretty much the way it turned out.
But my thoughts, and most likely your thoughts don’t matter on this subject because we aren’t the ones Biden was trying to impress. Democrats are the ones he is trying to appease on that front. Did he succeed? Well, that’s going to depend on who you listen to.
If you want to listen to some party hack like Donna Brazile, she of the “give Hillary the debate questions early” fame, then you’re going to think this is the best choice ever made. “I think she’s going to help the Biden ticket, I think she’s going to uh, help him govern if they’re elected, but this is an exciting day, the fourth time we’ve seen a woman on a major party ticket.
Didn’t really come across as all that enthused did she?
Maybe it has to do with Kamala’s attack on Sleepy Joe during the debates. You remember when she said, “To hear you talk about the reputations of two United States Senators who built their reputations and their careers on segregation of race in this country is detestable.”
This being said about a guy that swears if you vote for Trump, “you ain’t black enough”.
But enough about the candidates and the party hacks. What about the actual people that count? What about the voters? Here’s an example of what showed up on Twitter:
Oh, there were literally hundreds more. So, Donna Brazile, don’t tell me that this lady is going to be some beacon on the hill and change our lives. It doesn’t look like she’s even going to get elected!
Carry on world…you’re dismissed!
