So, Which Is It?

So much for any semblance of peace in the Middle East. Hamas decided to start lobbing rockets into Israel, sending hundreds of them over the border. Israel retaliated by attacking targets in Gaza. And it seems that any peace that the Trump administration had started to broker between the two has gone and died. But that’s always the way it is, isn’t it? One party in the United States is a staunch supporter of Israel, and the other is only lukewarm…if that.

White House Press Secretary, Jen “Circle Back” Psaki condemned Hamas in the attacks, all the while stating that the administration felt a “two-state” policy where both Palestinians and Israelis had their own states in a separate but equal solution worked best. Which is a round about way of saying, we don’t like violence, but we aren’t really going to be able to solve this problem.

Meanwhile, up on Capitol Hill, you would have thought the Democrat message was muddled even further. House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi condemned Hamas and the Palestinians for the attack, saying that Tel Aviv has the right to defend itself against this attack. So, you would think that at least House Democrats would be in favor of Israel in this eighty year flare up, right? Think again.

Moments later, two members of the Whackjob Five decided to take to the microphones. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Ilhan Omar, no real friend of the Jewish State, decided to side with the terrorist group Hamas on this one. Omar tweeted that she felt “Palestinian children deserve advocates for their humanity, safety, and security. No exceptions.”

So, which is it? On one hand, you’ve got the White House standing kinda sorta with Israel, while not really blasting Hamas, but saying they shouldn’t have done that. Then you’ve got Nancy Pelosi backing Israel, while sorry to see Palestinian kids dying. And you’ve got the Whackjob clan all upset and on the side of a terrorist group.

This is one of the underlying reasons why there is a Middle East crisis in the first place. You don’t think the Palestinians know they are going to be dealt with less harshly when there is a Democrat leading the way in DC? You don’t think Israel realizes that with a Republican in the White House, they stand a better chance of winning America’s support in this ongoing tragedy?

I’m fully aware that these two sides have been at each other’s throats for not only the almost 80 years that Israel has been a nation, but for thousands of years. It’s a religious war. And I have news for the folks currently in charge in DC. You don’t solve a religious war with condemning one side or the other. I can’t find one single instance in recorded human history where that has worked. So, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, AOC, and whackjob Omar, you can condemn whomever you want. You can support whichever side you want. And it doesn’t mean a hill of beans because when the next president rolls into town, whoever that is, and the next Speaker of the House is handed the gavel, again, whenever that is, our support changes.

When will these people realize, who the United States supports in this matter doesn’t matter a bit. They need to either work out the differences between them, or wipe each other out. They need to learn that in a religious war, there are no winners. Period.

Carry on world…you’re dismissed!
