Harris Ain’t Helping Much!

As the Vice President of the United States, you probably have the easiest job in America. While being the President is probably the hardest job in the world, being the Veep is a snap. All you have to do is show up at funerals that the President doesn’t want to go to, and support him. That’s pretty much it. You’re getting paid $230,700 a year to wait for the President to die or get booted out of office.

And K-baby Harris still can’t get it right.

Last week, while Biden was busy eating a dog doo doo sandwich on his signature $3.5 trillion boondoggle bill, and listening to his generals tell the world that no, he didn’t listen to them. He went off on his own regarding the Afghanistan troop withdrawal, leaving Americans stranded. And on top of that, he’s watching a poll from Harvard CAPS-Harris poll that showed a majority of Americans think Donald Trump was a better president than Joe Biden. So what was K-baby Harris doing to support her boss?

She was busy tearing down the relationship the administration has with the Jewish community.

A week ago this past Tuesday, while speaking at George Mason University, Harris got this question from a student: “You brought up how the power of the people and demonstrations and organizing is very valuable in America, but I see that over the summer there have been protests and demonstrations in astronomical numbers standing with Palestine. But then just a few days ago there were funds allocated to continue backing Israel, which hurts my heart because it’s ethnic genocide and displacement of people, the same that happened in America, and I’m sure you’re aware of this.”

It wasn’t the question that was so damning to the Biden team. It was Harris’ response: “This is about the fact that your voice, your perspective, your experience, your truth should not be suppressed, and it must be heard.”

OOPS!

And for the last 10 days, Harris has been trying to mend the fences with Jewish Democrats who were taken aback by her remarks (when she wasn’t taking trips back to California).

It has become painfully obvious the position that Harris has put the Biden administration in, and not just because of this remark. K-baby Harris hasn’t been able to have one success in the nine months she’s held her position. And worse yet, everything she touches seems to turn to feces in front of her. When Biden gives her a job to do, and I’ll be fair here…they aren’t easy jobs necessarily…she has screwed them up. And when he hasn’t given her a job to do, she sits idly by creating her own problems. She’s proven one thing so far this year…she’s not a leader.

And the problem for Democrats who are more and more realizing that Joe Biden isn’t the great leader they once thought he was, is that Harris isn’t the answer as far as a replacement. It would be relatively easy to invoke the 25th Amendment, and get Biden out of office based on his actions. But what isn’t easy is dealing with Harris as his replacement. And even if you manage to get her out of the way somehow, you’re dealing with Nancy Pelosi in the White House. It seems that at this point in time, sticking with Biden is probably the best option, even though it’s not a good option at all.

And it puts the Democrats in a grave position for 2022 and beyond. If they lose Congress, as many have predicted, they will basically tie Biden’s hands into issuing executive orders in order to run the country. That’s not worked that well for Bobo Obama, or Donald Trump, and it won’t work that well for Joe Biden either. It looks like a black cloud is following Joe Biden around right now. I’m just kind of torn as to whether lightening should put him out of his misery.

Myriad Of Topics Doom Dems’ Chances Next Year

There are plenty of reasons for Democrats to be worried about next year’s midterm elections. It seems that the “perfect storm of politics” is starting to hit them hard, and there doesn’t appear anything that they can do about it.

Most people vote with their wallets and pocketbooks, that’s been the long held belief. And if that is the case, the latest financial news isn’t very glowing for the left. It shows that while inflation is currently logged in at a 4.2% rate, far above the Fed’s target of 2%. It’s so bad that the White House just doubled that target to 4% for the year. Consumer confidence and consumer spending is on the wane. In June, consumers spent 1.1% less than they did the year earlier. And in July it was 0.3% less, signaling a slowing in demand.

As the prices increase, and the demand shrinks it means only one thing. There will come a tipping point where recession enters the discussion. How far off it is can be anybody’s guess. One thing that is interesting to note, there are 10 million jobs available out there right now, with an unemployment rate of 5.4%. That means basically that people are staying home because of the additional $300 per week boost the federal government is kicking in for their unemployment pay. It’s better for them in a lot of circumstances to stay o the couch than return to work, especially service work in restaurants and bars where the minimum wage is usually reduced because of the bulk of pay coming from tips. The problem for those folks is, Biden has already stated that he doesn’t want to extend that extra $300 past September. to do that is to slow the economy even more.

There are other issues out there as well that don’t bode well for Democrats.

First is the problem that they’ve got over at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. They have a president who is obviously in over his head and doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing. You can look at the southern border crisis and the botched Afghanistan withdrawal as just two of the many examples of Joe Biden’s slippage over the past eight months. Then you’ve got K-baby Harris. She’s screwed up every job she’s been given by Biden so far, and has one of the worst approval ratings ever for a sitting Vice President. While there are several Republicans already calling for Biden to resign, be impeached, or face the 25th Amendment, there are Democrats everywhere crying that’s not what needs to happen. They know if Biden’s gone and Harris becomes president, it’s only going to get worse. You’ll have someone at the Resolute Desk that couldn’t even stay in the Democrat primary until 2020 began. That doesn’t look good.

Second, you’ve got Congress that is spending money like a drunken sailor, or at least trying to. In the House, Nancy Pelosi has all but sold the party out to the Whackjob Five group headed by AOC. She basically slapped down moderate Democrats who wanted to vote on the infrastructure bill before deciding on the budget. The Whackjob faction of the party is looking at that $3.5 trillion price tag and the wish list that is included in next year’s budget and are salivating to beat the band. And you’ve got infrastructure on the back burner until at least late September. And you’ve got Pelosi’s January 6th Committee trying to hold hearings that basically only liberal snowflakes care about.

Third, you’ve got a sitting Supreme Court Justice that is wondering if he should retire or not. The New York Times has interviewed Justice Stephen Breyer and he’s said that while he hasn’t made up his mind yet about retiring, he’s still putting the pieces of the puzzle together, he doesn’t want to end up like Antonin Scalia or Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and die in office. He wants to retire at some point, he’s just not sure when. And one thing he surely doesn’t want is to be replaced by a conservative. Breyer was appointed back in 1994 by Bill Clinton and is one of only three liberals to sit on the high court, since Amy Coney Barrett replaced RBG after her death, marking an incredible turn to the right for the high court that will take years for the liberal snowflakes to undo.

With all of that going on, the Democrats see the writing on the wall. Both houses of Congress are very close indeed, and historically, the party that doesn’t have the White House ends up picking up seats in both sides. The Dems cannot afford to lose one seat in the Senate, and they only have a very slim majority. Democrats have 218 seats, Republicans 211, and there are six seats vacant. Redistricting is said to be giving the GOP five seats right off the bat, which means the GOP would have 216 to the Democrats 213, and there would be six open seats that would be filled next November. The chances of that going all Democrat (or five seats Democrat and one Republican) are slim and none.

Now, while I’m very happy to hear this news, I’m also cautious. As you know if you’ve followed politics at all, things in DC can turn on the dime, and Republicans have been known to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory many times in the past. They can do it again. We just have to be mindful!

Have The Tables Turned?

Do you happen to remember back when Donald Trump was president and Democrats in the House and Senate were adamant that he undergo some sort of mental test to prove that he was sane enough to lead our nation? Remember how there was all of this discussion as to invoking the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, which basically was written to take the power away from a president that can no longer function properly. It harkens back to 1965, when Congress passed it (it was ratified by the states two years later). So, what’s going on since?

One would have to agree that while Donald Trump was certainly more verbose and unpresidential when it came to his communications style, there really wasn’t anything in anything he did that suggested that he was not capable mentally to do the job throughout his four years. In fact, I’d argue the case that a lot of his issues and solutions were rather brilliant. But now, his former White House physician, Ronny Jackson (R-Tx), now a member of the House, who Trump ended up praising highly throughout his tenure at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, is calling for Joe Biden to undergo the same tests that Democrats demanded Trump take. In fact, Jackson administered a cognitive test to Trump as part of his annual physical. It showed Trump to be “very, very smart”.

So, why would Democrats not want Joe Biden to take such a test? What are they afraid of? Could it be that they realize that he’s not in full control of his mental faculties and that if he were to take such a test, he’d probably not come out of it smelling like a rose?

There are currently 14 House members, including Jackson, that have sent letters to Biden, the CDC, and to Anthony Fauci, asking that Biden take a mental acuity test for the good of the nation. Personally, I’m thinking that ALL presidents should take such a test every year as part of their annual physical, and the results of the test, along with the complete results of their medical exam should be made available online. Why would you not want a sitting president to demonstrate that he/she was capable of serious, long-thought out decisions, and that they had the mental ability to deal with the job they were elected to do?

Democrats want to make it so easy for Americans to vote. They don’t want you to have to show any drivers’ licenses, or any identification of any kind, though you’d have to show the same if you wanted to visit your Congressman or Senator. You’d have to show ID if you wanted to tour the White House or the FBI building. You’d have to show ID if you flew to Washington DC for all of that. And if you drove and wanted to stop for the night at a hotel, you’d have to show them your drivers’ license. So, what’s the big deal when it comes to showing a drivers’ license or other form of ID issued by the state or federal government for free when it comes to voting? Democrats want that so everyone is allowed to vote. They say they’re open and transparent. However, when it comes to the mental health of the Commander In Chief of our nation’s forces, someone who has his finger on the nuclear bombs of this country, we aren’t going to test to see that the person is mentally fit? Does that make sense?

It would seem to me that Ronny Jackson’s proposal is a good one. Now, it won’t go anywhere at least until after 2022’s midterm elections. But should the GOP take over both the House and Senate, I would hope that Jackson and his colleagues would revisit this proposal once again. After all, you can’t be a good president unless you’re a sane president!

Who Is REALLY Minding The Store?

If you are a regular reader here, you know I’m not a conspiracy theorist. I’d prefer to deal in reality… at least most of the time. But when facts lead you in a direction, sometimes it’s fun (though not productive) to follow to see where they lead. Well, that’s where we are going today

The conspiracy theory we are dealing with here is that Kamala Harris is VP in name only but in actuality is running the country. Biden is sitting back mumbling in the basement of the White House, which is why he hasn’t had a legitimate press conference yet (or ever if you believe that his pressers during the campaign were all staged and reporters were given the questions, and Biden the answers).

Adding to that conspiracy theory today is the latest fact (and it’s been verified) that while Joe Biden was talking to world leaders over the past couple of months, Kamala Harris has been doing her own calls, and world leaders aren’t calling Joe much anymore, they are calling Kamala. Hmmm. Tuesday, Harris took a call from Norway’s Prime Minister, Erna Solberg. Harris confirmed the United States had a deep and strong alliance with the country. Frankly, not much wrong with that. VP’s talk to foreign leaders a lot. Hell, Joe Biden was almost in bed with Ukraine’s president back when he was VP, close enough to threaten withholding aid to the Ukrainians if they didn’t fire the prosecutor looking into misgivings at Burisma, remember?

But Kamala has also took calls on her own from Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau; French President, Emanuel Macron, and Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. One European Ambassador, who requested anonymity said, “She is viewed by pretty much every leader as the “President In Waiting”.

Which begs the question, Who is running the store? Are we getting Joe Biden’s viewpoints when policy is given from the White House or Kamala Harris’ viewpoints? When Jen Psaki is at the podium during White House press briefings, are we hearing what the VP has to say or what the President has to say? And why HASN’T Biden been more accessible? I saw a clip of him the other day where he was at a hardware store and the press asked a question on the southern border and he stood there like a greeter at Walmart. He didn’t say a word.

It also begs the question, that if Harris is indeed the “President In Waiting”, when do they pull the trigger on Joe? When is the 25th Amendment put into play? Or, does Joe realize and tell the American public that he is no longer fit to serve as President and is resigning? I mean his big goal, his main reason for running WAS to get Trump out of the White House, right? I think that would have a devastating effect on the country personally. Biden has always been seen as more of a moderate, though you’d be hard pressed to come to that conclusion based on his performance so far. And Harris isn’t respected by many in this country. Hell, she couldn’t even GET to 2020 in the primaries, dropping out in December of 2019!

When Rasmussen put a poll out this past week and asked the question, HALF of the nation said they worried that Biden was not physically and mentally up to the job of President of the United States. That’s a solid 50%! Biden’s approval rating on the economy, according to CNN, certainly no conservative network, is 47% approval and disapproving! On Foreign Policy (which would include the Paris Accords and WHO memberships), CNN had him being disapproved 49 to 42%. Even his job rating on COVID is slipping. It’s gone from 68% last month to 54% today. And only 33% of the country think we are headed in the right direction…down from a high of 50%! In short, America is worried, and a lot of Biden voters are suffering through buyers’ remorse!

So, it begs the question, who IS running the store? And the more important question is, will we ever find out?

Pelosi’s Unconstitutional Power Grab

You probably heard that on Friday, Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi made a power grab move by introducing in the House a bill that would set up a “commission”, basically a Congressional panel, that would determine whether any President was mentally fit for office, and if not, would suggest that the 25th Amendment be invoked.

Now, before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s examine what the 25th Amendment says about this:

“Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.”

So, Pelosi can indeed have a “commission” set up to determine whether or not a president (not just Trump) is sane, or mentally with it enough to run the country. But let’s look at the following scenario: Democrats take over the Senate, and keep the House. Trump beats Biden. And, this thing becomes law (it won’t happen, but let’s say it does). Then the Speaker, and the President pro tempore of the Senate write a letter saying that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. The Vice President immediately takes over. But, the President can also immediately sent to the President pro tempore of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House, HIS (or her) declaration that no inability exists. As long as the VP, AND a majority of the cabinet OR Congress go along with the the president, it’s deal over. He’s back in charge.

OK, so that’s what happens. In reality, this bill will pass the House because Democrats have a majority there. Mitch McConnell won’t even bring it to the floor of the Senate and it will be dead. Besides, Congress is in recess, and in order for it to become law, Trump would have to sign the bill. There’s no way the Democrats have a veto-proof majority in the House or the Senate.

So, why bother? Maybe to draw attention away from Joe Biden’s refusal to talk about packing the court. Maybe to draw attention away from Chuck Schumer’s demands that the filibuster end if Democrats take over the Senate and that Puerto Rico and Washington, DC become states. Maybe because her hairdresser put too many rollers in her hair and her brain is gaga, who knows?

Pelosi is always coming up with stupid ideas, and this is just one of them. She knows damn well that this isn’t going to go anywhere. It’s designed to get people thinking that there’s something wrong with Trump because he had Coronavirus. Obviously, that’s not the case any longer as the White House physician has cleared him to start campaigning again this weekend, and he’s already on the campaign trail.

It’s just another example of Democrats wanting to feint and change the rules when they sense they aren’t winning. It’s watching the left hand while the right hand is taking YOUR money and YOUR freedoms away.

The Rosenstein Problem

Rod Rosenstein, according to the less than credible New York Times, supposedly said in a closed-door meeting with staff that included Peter Strzok’s skank, Lisa Page, that he wanted to “wear a wire to record Donald Trump” and then give the information to a member of the Cabinet so they could go ahead and invoke the 25th Amendment, saying that Trump was unstable and not fit to be President.

The only problem is, that the people that were there, and Rod Rosenstein himself deny that’s the way it came down. So we have a problem. Is Rod Rosenstein, who is the deputy Attorney General, an anti-Trumper? Or, was the whole thing taken by the New York Times out of context.

According to Rosenstein, Andy McCabe, who was at the time the Acting Director of the FBI after James Comey’s firing…and since then has been fired himself, apparently believed Rosenstein when he made the comments. Rosenstein, for his part, says that the Times article was “inaccurate and factually incorrect”. According to the others in the room, Rosenstein’s comments were sarcastic, and meant to shut McCabe up.

So, again we have this problem with the New York Times. The once vaunted paper that prints “all the news that fit to print” has once again either taken something so far out of context, or has made up yet another article entirely. Or, Rod Rosenstein is a liar. It’s got to be one of the three things going on.

My hunch is the Times is out to get Donald Trump any way they can. And they don’t care if they sacrifice their own newspaper in the process. That’s sad because it gives all of media a very bad name. So far we’ve seen the likes of CNN, MSNBC, the Times, and the Washington Post all bow to journalistic lows by creating stories that didn’t exist, lying on the air and in print, and just plain making things up in order to give a dig at the Trump administration.

What’s ended up happening is that the American public has turned it’s back on the media. That’s sad. Speaking as someone who made a living in that industry, it always bothered me when people took a swipe at us for being less than truthful. And it bothers me greatly to watch a once great institution such as this country’s media fall to the depths of unprofessionalism.

There really isn’t any way around it either, except to sue the Times to right the wrong it’s created. That’s expensive and a long-winded process. I know, because in my former town the newspaper had been sued several times for inaccurate reporting. Some of those cases took years. And in each of those instances, I believe their readership and their credibility suffered to the point that they are a laughing stock. That shouldn’t happen with any media member.

Did Rosenstein say what was alleged by the Times? We’ll never know. He says it never happened that way, and he certainly has more credibility than McCabe ever had. And, I’d suggest he has more credibility than the Times has. All Trump can do is add that to the pile.
