The Nadler Show Begins YAWN!

In case you’re bored with the whole impeachment thing, don’t worry. I’ve got you covered. When we last left Adam Schiff, he was seen trying to vote to pass on to Jerry Nadler at the House Judiciary Committee, the recommendation for impeachment. Of course, this one wasn’t in front of the cameras. Schiff’s vote was taken behind closed doors with no TV present.

In the meantime, Nadler was getting ready for his big day Wednesday. And to help bore you to tears, he brought in four liberal law professors, one from each corner of the country. I guess he figured that’d help. It didn’t. It was as dry as two week old toast. Unfortunately for Nadler, he didn’t include Catharine MacKinnon, the uber-liberal feminist law professor from the University of Michigan. If you don’t remember, MacKinnon is the one that calls all sexual intercourse “rape”. That could have been a turning point in this whole impeachment deal. Rape certainly IS a crime! And if all sex is rape, and we know Trump has had many dalliances, then he MUST be guilty of rape, right? Well, that’d be her way of thinking!

Instead, we got a first year law class in impeachment. Yes, it was boring. No, we didn’t learn anything. And no, it didn’t move the needle in any direction. What’s funny about all of this is that the conclusion is foregone. Is there really anybody in America that feels that Democrats aren’t going to impeach Trump? Is there anyone out there that doesn’t think he’s going to get exonerated once the trial phase starts in the Senate? And is there anyone out there that really thinks this is going to help the Democrats in 2020 and beyond?

I saw Republican majority leader, Kevin McCarthy the other day outline why the whole thing was a charade, and he pretty well nailed it. Nancy Pelosi had outlined there were three key things that had to happen in order for her to move forward with impeachment. What was funny was none of the three areas have been met. In fact, one of the keys was that impeachment had to be “bi-partisan”, which it wasn’t since more Democrats voted against the impeachment inquiry (2) than Republicans voting for it (zero).

In the end, there really isn’t a way out of the woods for the Democrats. Oh, they’ll try and spin it that there was a “bribe”, and that will be one of the articles of impeachment. But when both parties (Trump and Ukrainian president, Zelenskiy) have said there was no pressure, no quid pro quo, and no bribe, it’s going to be tough to actually prove the charge. A few Dems have suggested censorship of Trump as a way to get around impeachment, but that’s being shot down by pretty much everybody in leadership. No, the Dems have once again over-played their hand on this one. The egg on their face is going to be long lasting and tough to get off…and Jerry Nadler isn’t the guy that’s smart enough to figure out how to get out of the jam he’s in!

Another Crack In The Wall

OK…I don’t know what it is with my selecting 1970’s hard rock quotes (earlier we opened up with Karn Evil 9 from Emerson, Lake, & Palmer), but this one, from Pink Floyd actually does fit (and yes…I know it’s “Another BRICK In The Wall”). It seems that as the tide is shifting away from impeachment among the American people, there are some Democrats out there that actually ARE listening to the populace, rather than Adam Schiff, Nancy Pelosi, and Jerry Nadler.

Brenda Lawrence (D-Mi), who holds down Michigan’s 14th Congressional District (located just to the north of Detroit and Dearborn), is decidedly now against impeachment. She was elected in 2014, and is in her third term as representative. She is an ardent supporter of Kamala Harris for president (Harris has called for impeachment), but recently, after seeing Independents shy away in ever-increasing numbers from an impeachment vote, has decided it’s not a good move for Democrats.

We’ve outlined here ad nauseum why that’s the case, and Lawrence is most assuredly coming to the same conclusion (I won’t be so presumptuous as to think she’s actually reading this blog). Instead of impeachment, Lawrence is showing some very rare restraint for a Democrat, calling for the House to censure the president, not impeach him. That would be the proverbial slap on the wrist, which, pretty much along with impeachment, wouldn’t harm him politically…in fact, a censure would probably be the best thing for Democrats at this point. With the Independents now nearing the 25% mark of those favoring impeachment and removal from office (It started out at almost 40%), it’s pretty easy to see that impeachment would be a loser for the Dems’ in upcoming elections.

There were two Democrats back in the original vote to open the inquiry that voted with Republicans. And I’m not kidding anybody into thinking that when three vote against the party that is going to sink impeachment. But the tide is shifting, and a smart politician will sit up and take notice of this. Remember Nancy Pelosi said that she wanted impeachment only if it was a bi-partisan effort? Not only isn’t that happening at this point in time, but NOT impeaching Trump is becoming the bi-partisan effort.

There are 218 votes needed to impeach a sitting president in the House of Representatives. Democrats have (as of November 3rd of this year) a total of 233 seats (with four vacant seats), meaning that if the vote count against impeachment reaches 16 Democrats, it fails. And that means that all of the efforts of the Democrats so far would have gone down the tubes. Somehow I think that would have a negative effect as well on them. They have already started down the slippery slope and I don’t see a way out of this for them that shows the American public that they have been doing “the nation’s business”, and keeping “We The People” first and foremost.

Harry Reid Actually Gets It!

I’ve never been a fan of Harry Reid. I thought he was a low life. He had a real slimy life before he became a politician out in Nevada, and he was a slimy politician once he got to Washington DC. He was a liar and a thief, and still is a thief to this day.

The guy lives about three hours northwest of me in a little town called Searchlight. It’s a dot on the map, and he basically owns it. Oh, he calls Las Vegas his home…but Searchlight is about an hour south of Vegas.

But when it comes to Donald Trump, Harry Reid is right on the money.

He said over the past weekend on CNN, that he thinks the Democrats would be wise not to underestimate Donald Trump. Calling him a “very, very, very smart man”, where once he thought he was an idiot, I really think that Harry Reid in his old age, understands what makes Trump tick.

First of all, Trump doesn’t just wade into arguments. He argues on his own terms. You have to wade in his waters, not the other way around, and that’s what the Democrats are doing with impeachment. You don’t think Trump enjoys all of the talk about impeachment? It’s a friggin’ campaign issue for the Republicans as much if not more-so than with the Democrats! And he knows that every single time the Democrats hold hearings, try to impeach, scream about something Trump has done wrong, only to be proven wrong, it hurts them. It hurts their credibility. And IF Donald Trump ever does do anything wrong…and let’s face it…ALL presidents do something wrong. You can’t make decisions at that level over four years, or eight years and not make huge errors, he’s going to be able to hide it under their Chicken Little screaming.

Harry Reid understands that as well.

What I find remarkable is that Harry Reid couldn’t figure out when he was Majority Leader in the Senate, why invoking the nuclear option of doing away with 60 votes for confirmation wasn’t going to lead to a Republican take over of the judicial branch of government…a branch the Democrats had held on to and built up as theirs for decades. Harry Reid was the guy that actually ruined that. Sure, he allowed Bobo Obama to pack the court…at least the lower federal courts. But it also allowed Donald Trump to do the same. Trump has appointed 282 judges to various federal benches in the past three years, and there are 154 more that are either in the works or will open up very soon. That’s over 430 federal judges that Donald Trump will be appointing in his first term, and they’ll all get approved thanks to Harry Reid!

But to get back to my original point. Donald Trump may not be a genius. He may not be America’s greatest president. But he’s a smart guy, who graduated from a pretty prestigious business school, has bright kids, and is nobody’s fool. I don’t always agree with him, but you have to give him that. And Democrats like Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler that think they are smarter than Trump would be wise to step back and really analyze this guy!

Are Dems Worried About 2020?

I would think they should be when you look at it. Let’s take a semi-deep dive into next year’s election and what could be driving all this drivel about Donald Trump’s pending “impeachment”.

First of all, I think most Democrats would have to admit that the field of candidates that are out there for next year’s presidential election would be considered “weak” at best. You have a bunch of no names, people that have served one or two terms in the House, and very few know their names. You have a couple of Senators, that have become well known either because they have big mouths and love to spout off, or they are flaming, dyed in the wool socialists like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. And then you’ve got Joe Biden. He came into this thing as the odds on favorite to win the election, and since has done nothing but slip and slide and lose traction. Now, according to the latest polls I’ve seen he’s behind Warren nationally. That’s a first.

The Dems know that someone that’s so radically left as Warren or Sanders can’t win a general election. They’ll scare off the most important group of people out there… the independent voters in swing states. Places like Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina are the places that are going to determine the next president, and those aren’t necessarily places where socialism plays well (well, it doesn’t play well outside of the Twin Cities in Minnesota!). So, yes… the Dems are certainly worried about 2020 as far as the presidential candidate is concerned.

There has been a lot of chatter recently about someone making an 11th hour bid for president on the Democrat side. Hillary’s name has popped up a few times, and she’s even spoken of it, saying, “I could beat him AGAIN”. Wait a minute. If she did actually beat Donald Trump, why is his residence 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and hers is in Chappaqua, NY? And there has been talk of Michelle Ma Belle Obama making a last gasp run. Doubtful at best. She was never one to get in the middle of anything except high school cafeteria food fights.

But that’s not all the Dems are worried about. If this impeachment thing goes sideways, and unless they can find something more damning that what we’ve seen it will, Dems are worried that their base may be fired up but the rest of the country will turn on them. A whopping 85% of Democrats think Trump should be impeached. That compares with 39% of independents, and 13% of Republicans. So, when you see polls that say America is for impeachment, that’s why. Almost every Dem out there is for it. HUGE numbers of Democrats are in the latest polls saying they want it, and it’s skewed the results. Watch the independent number…that’s the one to watch. If that one gets to 50%, it’s curtains for Trump.

And if impeachment does manage to go sideways, and Trump has a trial in the Senate and wins, the base won’t be as energized. That’s because they’ve been led to believe that impeachment IS removal. It’s not. Those of us in the know realize that. If they lose that support with their base and independents, they’ll lose the House. That puts them in a terrible spot. And that’s the main reason why Nancy Pelosi doesn’t want impeachment without bi-partisan support. She knows it’s the death knell for her reign, and you’ll see her retire if that happens!

No, Democrats talk a big game, and they double down when they get cornered. But they are also very scared right now. Are you telling me Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler aren’t losing sleep at night? They want impeachment SO bad, and if they fail, they look like idiots. And if they succeed in impeaching Trump and he wins the trial, they still look like idiots. And while Schiff’s seat may be safe, Nadler is going to be facing a primary battle back home in New York…something he really doesn’t want!

Lewandowski 1, House Judiciary 0

Former Trump campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski headed to Capitol Hill yesterday to testify before the House Judiciary Committee. See, they’re still hell bent on figuring out an angle to impeach Donald Trump, Brett Kavanaugh, and anyone else that happens to have an (R) after their name. And, as you might imagine, Lewandowski came out with his head held high, and slayed the mean old Jerry Nadler and company.

In fact, it was such an incredible win for Lewandowski that he now is toying with the idea of running for the US Senate from New Hampshire next year. That would put him up against Democrat Jeanne Shaheen, current Senator and former Governor of the Granite State.

Lewandowski went toe to toe with Sheila Jackson Lee, and Jerry Nadler among others, and didn’t flinch, didn’t give an inch, and fought back with an incredible display of independence and confidence. After watching this guy give his testimony I would be happy as a clam to have him as my Senator!

The Democrats find themselves in a terrible position just 14 months away from a major election, and it doesn’t seem as if they have any clue on how to get out of it. Nadler, who himself is going to be primaried in New York by one of AOC’s minions because he’s too “soft” and moderate, has been talking tough to try and show his base that he actually has a spine. That may be good news for him in his election, but it’s showing the rest of the country just what idiots the Democrats are.

It seems as though the Democrats can’t take “no” for an answer. No Russian Collusion, No Brett Kavanaugh sexual misconduct, No insane president. There’s just nothing there. So, with their backs up against the wall, the House continues to push on impeachment even though upwards of 70% of Americans, and now more than half of the Democrats out there don’t want it. That’s what is extremely vexing. If you think about it, IF Jerry Nadler were to get his way, and IF he were to get the House to actually impeach Donald Trump, there probably wouldn’t be an impeachment trial until after the election. That plays right into Trump’s hands.

And what happens IF the Senate (controlled by Republicans) are given yet another campaign issue of “Hey, elect the Republican so Trump doesn’t get convicted!”, and ends up expanding their lead over the Dems in the Senate? It could be years before the Democrats get over this faux pas. In fact, that’s precisely why Nancy Pelosi refuses to talk about impeachment any more. While Lee, Green, Waters, and Cummings are all screaming for impeachment, they are doing their party a huge disservice. There is no way in the world they can deliver on their promise of getting Trump removed from the White House. And, like what happened with Bill Clinton, Trump will wear it as a badge of courage as he glides to victory next November…taking the Senate and possibly the House along with him.

And then, what would Jerry Nadler, and Maxine Waters, and Sheila Jackson Lee, and Al Green, and Elijah Cummings (and though you haven’t heard from him lately, there’s of course Adam Schiff) do with themselves, assuming of course that they could all win reelection? They’d certainly have extra time on their hands because they’d thrown away the chance to be the majority power!

And all the while, Corey Lewandowski would be in the Senate, smiling….it’d be a beautiful thing!

Not Done Yet???

You would have thought after the totally embarrassing display that the Democrats put on this past week when Robert Mueller testified before not one but two different House Committees in Congress on his now infamous “Mueller Report”, that the Democrats would be happy to put the whole impeachment thing on the shelf and walk away. I mean, Mueller basically shot a nuclear missile at the idea in his testimony. Add to that the fact that EVERY media outlet in the country felt that the whole thing was “an unmitigated disaster” for the Democrats. And, follow that up with several polls from very credible (and liberal!) polling organizations that showed anywhere from 65% to 82% of the American people said they were done with the Russian Collusion and the “impeach Trump” scenario, and you would have thought these guys would have had their tales between their legs.

And you’d be wrong.

Because when you suffer from TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome), you have no control over the hatred running through your body. You can’t begin to believe that no matter how many investigations find nothing; no matter how many people are sick of you not doing your job and wasting millions of taxpayer dollars on meaningless “investigations” and “hearings” that prove absolutely nothing, there is something in the make up of these people like Jerry Nadler and Adam Schiff that compel them to believe that they “just haven’t found the smoking gun yet”. Forget the fact there IS no smoking gun. Forget the fact that it appears now that Hillary Clinton and the Democrats were far more guilty of obstructing justice, and colluding with the Russians than Donald Trump ever was, it’s a matter of fact that some Democrats are so filled with rage and hate that they can’t see straight.

And personally, I think it’s a very funny situation.

That’s because there’s nothing funnier than a mad liberal. They go off the rails, they say very stupid things, and they never, ever want to concede that they’ve been wrong all this time. For Nadler, and Schiff, and Waters, and AOC, and her Whackjob 4 gang, and Elijah Cummings, and Al Green just can’t fathom that they could have been so far off base. Well, they were. It was obvious to every sane person in America almost from the very start of this that these folks were on a fishing expedition that would make Moby Dick look like a goldfish.

And since Democrats are always the “smartest people in the room”, and always right, never ready to apologize for anything, they have to keep doubling down. So, what does the future hold if Nancy Pelosi can’t reign these idiot snowflakes in?

It looks like this. Donald Trump ends up winning 2020’s re-election bid in a landslide because whomever his opponent is will be throwing impeachment in his face…and the American electorate are tired of hearing about it. They want to move on to the issues, and those suffering from TDS can’t get past it. The left loses the House of Representatives, because the Republicans are going to be running on the fact that the Democrats under Pelosi haven’t managed to pass a single meaningful piece of legislation other than the recently passed budget compromise bill. That is the extent of two years of leading the lower house. And don’t you think Donald Trump is going to be on the campaign trail along side of every Republican candidate he can find in Democrat incumbent districts, hoping to take back the House? Of course he is.

Democrats have woken a sleeping giant. They have no idea the wrath that is going to be unleashed on them. And having socialist liberals like Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Bernie Sanders, AOC and the Whackjobs, and the like screaming about things that most Americans aren’t ready to accept (and doubtfully ever will be) means that it will be increasingly easy for Trump to win reelection.

So, get the popcorn ready…go out and buy a case of whatever bubbly you enjoy, and sit back and watch the fun unfold. It’s all waiting for you!

Carry on world…you’re dismissed!

I can understand that the House of Representatives needs to do something…ANYTHING besides impeachment hearings on Donald Trump. They realize, I’m sure that the American public doesn’t believe they have anything on Trump and if they were to move forward with impeachment, it would be a travesty and they’d end up losing the House altogether. But why turn your attention to reparations?

That’s what the Jerry Nadler-led, House Judiciary Committee did last week. They decided that they’d bring out actors, rich black folks, and others with their hand out, and demand that it was now time to pay blacks for the slavery issue. I have several problems with that.

First of all, let me say unequivocally that the way blacks were treated in this country in our early years was inexcusable. Slavery of other humans beings is never, EVER an issue that even should be thought of. I don’t care the color of your skin, your age, your gender, your sexual orientation and the like, it’s wrong. Period. You don’t treat people like that.

That being said, wasn’t the fact 620,000 Americans died fighting each other over this and other issues enough reparations? Isn’t the fact America eventually righted the wrong and paid with its’ own blood enough?

And the bigger question is how in the world do today’s African Americans have any “suffering” because of what their ancestors went through some 155 years ago? Show me how YOU suffered because of what your great-great-great-great-great grandfather had to endure, and maybe we’ll talk. And IF we were to pay reparations for slavery, does that take the whole black question off the table forever? Does that put an end to affirmative action (yeah…it still does exist, though not officially)? Does that put an end to racism? Does it solve all of our nation’s problems regarding race?

We haven’t even scratched the surface of who we are going to pay and who isn’t qualified. Are you qualified if you’re just black, and how black? If I have a relative that was a slave, but married a white woman, and he’s the only relative I’ve ever had that was black, and I’m white as the driven snow, does that make me eligible? And do I have to prove it? Or and I just stick my hand out and say, “Yup…I’m deserving of a handout!” Where are you going to draw the line? If I emigrated to this country from say…Brazil. I’m black, and I got here in 1983. Does that make me eligible? Are you going to even check? Or, as I would suspect, anyone that answers on the 2020 Census that they are African American would get a check in the mail someday?

There are way too many questions, and not enough clear answers to decide this question, and I’m not sure America will ever be doing “paying” for slavery. But I can tell you this…reparations of any kind, for any wrong doing of a group of people are wrong. You can’t correct racism with money. It begins with a change of the heart, and all the legislation, all of the hearings on Capitol Hill aren’t going to change that!
