The Problem With The Left

I was talking to a friend of mine back east the other day. We were chatting about the state of affairs in this country. Now, he’s rather liberal, and I’m rather conservative. We’ve tried to recruit each other for years, and neither has been successful. But I had some problems that I hoped he could fill me in on when it came to leftist philosophy.

He couldn’t.

So, let’s take a swipe at what I was talking about and see if anyone out there can at least give credence to the problems I have with the left.

Let’s start with inconsistency. I’m not talking about how Joe Biden can be all about sending blacks to prison when he was a Senator and write a crime bill that basically shuns that race. And then the same man comes out a couple decades later, and wants to be their best friend, saying how he’s always fighting for them. No, we understand boldfaced lies. That’s not it. What I’m talking about is something simpler. Let’s look at two things the left is adamant about. Let’s look at abortion, and the death penalty.

Now, I’ll start out by saying that conservatives aren’t very consistent on this point either. Liberals decry that a “woman has a right to choose”…which is a fancy way of saying they don’t want to talk about killing unborn babies. They want it to be about “healthcare choices” for the woman. They forget that they are ending a life. Yet, when they are talking about prisoners who have committed heinous crimes, and maybe murdered all sorts of folks, they don’t want to take their life. How can the life of an unborn child be worth less than a convicted, hardened criminal?

Let’s look at other areas. Let’s take a look at Biden’s staff for a minute. Here we have a guy that is boasting how he has more than half the people on his cabinet that are women. Or, as he put it, “more than half the women in my cabinet are women.” Yeah, he actually said that. But why if the left wants the best people for the job do they have quotas? Why do they limit themselves to certain groups, be it women, or a certain race, or a certain sexual preference? Are you insuring you’re going to get qualified people that are going to be good for whatever job you’re filling by limiting who you hire? And let me ask one other question I have regarding this. If the people of color, the female gender, or people of other than heterosexual preferences are so great, how in the world did we ever elect Joe Biden? He’s a white heterosexual male. He should have been at the back of the line. In fact, according to the liberal way of thinking, Karine Jean-Pierre is better suited to be president than Joe Biden is.

What about criminal justice reform? Liberals feel that we should go easy on criminals because they probably have had a hard life. They feel that it’s discriminatory to make some poor black criminal that may have robbed someone in a New York City subway and gotten caught pay a cash bail to get out of jail until his trial. They want to go with a “cashless bail” society. They think that prisons should reflect the population of America, not the lawbreakers that are sentenced to be there. Why not just keep ALL arrestees jailed until their trial? Why have a cashless bail system so the person can go back out on the street and commit crimes all over again? That’s happened more times than we can count, right?

As far as education is concerned, all of the statistics that I’ve seen say that our kids are getting dumber. It’s simply because our schools have stopped teaching English, and Math, and Science, and have focused on teaching critical race theory, and socialism, and transgenderism, and how to question whether you’re straight or gay. Those things never even appeared when I was in school. Hell, I didn’t know what transgender was! I don’t even think I knew what “gay” was until I got to high school! Is there a reason we can’t focus on what the kids of today will need to know to become the leaders of tomorrow, or are we content to let them wander through life questioning whether they are male or female, or straight or gay?

Liberals also love to tax the rich, right? I mean, you hear it every time there is going to be a tax cut put on the floor of Congress. All you hear is how the conservatives are giving tax breaks to their rich buddies and the big corporations. Well, this one is actually partly true because the liberals have made it so 47% of all of us don’t pay a dime in income taxes. So, if you are paying income taxes come April, you are in a slight majority that also has to pick up the tab for those living a little less lavishly than you. Why can’t everyone pay a certain percentage of their income, say 10%? It’s good enough for God…so why isn’t it good enough for Washington? Of course, liberals say that the poor needs every penny to make it.

Most of the problems that I’ve addressed here can be solved by one thing and only one thing. Those are the choices that people have made in their lives. I had the distinct honor of meeting former Notre Dame and South Carolina head football coach, Lou Holtz back when I was in Toledo. He was in town for a football game, and I got to corner him in the press tower before the game. He told me something I’ve never forgotten. He said that he would tell his players that they have choices to make every day. Do they go to class or sleep in? Do they party or study? Do they spend an extra hour in the gym or do they go eat pizza and drink beer? Choices define us. We choose right and good things happen. We choose wrong and bad things happen. He was so on the money with that. And that is what is wrong with America today. The left has made bad choices for us. Those in need in most cases (not all) have made poor choices in their lives and they are paying for it. It’s not conservatives fault. It’s not the wealthy’s fault. It’s their own fault. It’s called personal responsibility. And until everyone learns that, we are doomed to listen to the crap we’ve been listening to for the past decade.

And Best In Class Is…

If I asked you to choose one word to describe our current president, what word would you choose? I have a few that go through my mind, as you probably do at this point as well. However, there’s one word that I probably wouldn’t even be able to find on my list…and I’m betting it’s not on yours.

The word is “Communicator”

And yet, the White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre believes, or at the very least told the press briefing on this past Tuesday that, Joe Biden, the current POTUS, the current CINC, the current “Leader Of The Free World”, that guy is the “best communicator in the White House”.

It all started when a reporter asked whether the President is viewed by his team as “equally adept in all settings, in terms of communications”. Jean-Pierre responded that Biden was the best communicator in the White House. And that’s when the laughter started. It started in the press room, and it started online almost immediately. It’s funny and sad at the same time when you think about it.

Biden has been known for years for his gaffes. His stumbles have become meme worthy. His supporters and fans literally hold their collective breath at the beginning of every speaking situation, to see whether or not the guy will be using English, or whether he will be stuck in “Biden-speak”. And that’s what makes the comment Jean-Pierre said funny.

What makes it sad is when you have to compare Biden as the “best communicator in the White House” with those in competition with him. You have his vice president who is, herself, known for having created words in our dictionary. Words like “word salad”. She consistently gets stuck on a word or a phrase that just doesn’t make sense in the context that she’s trying to use it in, and yet she competes with herself to see how many times she can use it in the span of two or three sentences. And this is the sad part. Knowing Joe Biden’s lack of communication skills, if Jean-Pierre’s comment was indeed true, it speaks volumes on the state of affairs we have in our leadership team.

And that brings me to my main point. One of the more important jobs that a president of any country has is to communicate with his or her constituents. They have not only the right, but the duty to let the public know what’s going on and to do so in a concise and authoritative manner. When you have people like Biden and Harris that can’t seem to get a word out at all, and then shake their heads and say something stupid like, “Well, I don’t know what I’m saying”, it doesn’t bode well.

It also doesn’t speak very well of Karine Jean-Pierre. If she is lying to the reporters and spin a narrative that isn’t true, she’s not only a dunce herself, she’s an out and out liar. If, however, she IS believing what she’s saying, and not trying to blow smoke up her boss’ rear end, that doesn’t say much about her either. She obviously hasn’t worked for people that are actually proficient in the English language.

I find these type of comments disturbing, and not funny at all. I would expect this type of comment to come from the cast of Saturday Night Live, not from a Press Secretary, who’s words every government in the world will listen to and parse. And to think this is a woman that went to an Ivy League school (Columbia University). To watch her struggle to answer the most basic questions that a Washington Press Corp can throw is actually quite disheartening. Look, I’m no fan of the left, but I try to look at the bigger picture. Leaders around the world tune into her briefing every single day to see what the US is up to. And you get a woman that can barely read out of a binder? She may have gone to an Ivy League school, but if I were Columbia, I certainly wouldn’t be bragging about it.

Getting Your Story Straight

Joe Biden is in a pickle that will probably last right through his reelection bid in 2024. He got caught with secret and top secret documents illegally stored. First they were found at an office he kept in Washington, DC after he left the Obama White House. Then they found even more documents stored in his garage, and now they’ve found even more found in his house…by the way, the same house Hunter Biden was staying at during this time. And that, as I’ve said before, means a few things. Biden is apparently no better than Donald Trump when it comes to keeping classified, secret and top secret documents at his house. But it also means you probably aren’t going to be seeing Trump indicted for anything like that any time soon. Attorney General, Merrick Garland realizes that if he goes after Trump over the Mar-a-Lago raid, he needs to do the same to Biden, or he WILL be impeached!

So, let’s fast forward to the White House mouthpiece, Karine Jean-Pierre.

Poor KJP can’t seem to get her story straight. After the first document discover in Joe’s DC office were discovered, KJP came out to say that they were fully cooperating with the DOJ on this and that the matter was over. All of the documents had been recovered and turned over.

Oops.

Then they found more docs in Biden’s garage. And then subsequent docs were found in Biden’s home. And what did Jean-Pierre have to say about it? She never knew about it until the press corp uncovered it and she learned about it at the same time America did. No one in the Biden White House thought to clue her in on it apparently.

Then she was asked if someone higher up in the White House told her not to be forthcoming when it came to the discovery of the additional documents. Her answer was, “I have been forthcoming.” Uh-huh. And I ran a close second to Donald Trump in the Republican primary in 2020.

KJP refuses to say whether the search for these classified documents at Joe’s place has actually been concluded, or if there are going to be more documents found.

And this is problematic on several fronts.

First and foremost, you have the person that is telling the press corp that she isn’t in the loop when it comes to the information that is being ladled out at the White House. She doesn’t know. Or if she knows, she isn’t saying. That usually doesn’t bode well when the press is looking for answers. And it usually doesn’t bode well for the administration trying to hide the story.

It’s problematic because there is always a loss of credibility for the administration when something like this can’t be answered directly and openly. The press is feeling like you’re hiding something. That makes them dig even deeper, ala Woodward & Bernstein, to uncover what they most assuredly feel at this point is a scandal brewing. They see themselves being thrust a Pulitzer Prize if they are able to uncover it, and with it the fame and fortune for the rest of their lives.

And it’s problematic for another, more conspiratorial reason. Republicans are already asking the question, “What’s in those documents?” Are there items in there that the House Intelligence Committee would like to see because they implicate Joe and Hunter in their play for pay schemes they’ve allegedly foisted on Ukraine and China? Is there a smoking gun there? Biden has already shown that he can’t be trusted to tell the truth when it comes to stuff like this. He’s been caught in how many lies in his career? Hundreds? Thousands? Why in the world would anyone believe what he has to say about this? Remember, he told everyone countless times that “I never met with any of Hunter’s business associates and I never talked to him about his business dealings.” That turned into a crock that if you stepped in it, you’d need a new pair of shoes.

Why not just admit what you did wrong and get the story out there. I’ll say this about Bill Clinton. At least he was right about one thing. When YOU release the story, instead of letting the press find out about it, YOU get to control the story. But as Clinton also found out, you have to release the WHOLE story. You can’t just pick and choose what needs to be released because someone somewhere is going to find the truth. And if there is more to this story, and the Republican conspiracy folks happen to be right, impeachment may not only NOT be out of the question, it may be necessary.

Kicking The Can

I think it was two months ago that Joe Biden first came up with the fact that his administration needed to get involved with the pending rail strike in this country that effected some 12 different unions. I remember him saying that he was set to help both sides come to an amicable agreement. We’re two months down the road, and there are still differences. Big differences. In fact, the Biden administration has admitted that they can’t solve the impass. So what’s Joe to do?

Kick the can to Congress and tell them it’s their problem now!

This is just like Biden. If you look over the last two years of his presidency, he has time and time again taken the real heavy lifting topics, like the rail strike, and kicked it to someone else so he wouldn’t do the lifting. After all, the guy is 80 years old now! He could easily throw out his back.

He first kicked a can K-baby Harris’ way on the southern border crisis. Of course, she’s been trying to find someone to kick the can to ever since. He kicked a can to Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg on the supply chain problem, which got in the way of Buttigieg’s personal vacation time and family leave time. Very little has been done there. He’s kicked a can to Europe when it came to the climate. Oh, I know he talks a good game, but he doesn’t follow through with it, allowing Chevron, as I said yesterday, to drill for oil in Venezuela. And it goes on and on. The man wants to be Teflon coated, but he’s not.

Biden originally said he was going to tackle this problem. Oops. Or did he. Well, he did, and according to his press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre said time and time again that Biden was “personally involved” in the negotiations. That came as a surprise to Biden, who over the Thanksgiving weekend, while vacationing in Nantucket, said he had not personally gotten involved in the dispute at that point. Someone is missing some facts somewhere!

Now, Biden is kicking the can on the potential for a rail strike to Congress, telling a lame-duck session of the Legislative Body to come up with a solution. It’s not like they don’t already have enough on their plate with the budget running out on December 16th, and the debt ceiling about to be breached. And now Congress needs to act quickly to get this done by December 9th. And actually sooner because the rail lines will stop hauling hazardous material on December 5th. Of course, Congress is expected to start voting on this as early as today.

This is the latest example of the leadership style of a weak president. Are you telling me that someone like an Abraham Lincoln or a George Washington, or even an FDR would sit around and complain about not being able to get a deal on a rail strike and then kick it to Congress to do with less than a week to do it in? Biden’s had two months and couldn’t make progress. What makes anyone with a sense of honesty in their soul feel that Congress, that monolith body that takes forever to decide what to order for lunch can do in five days? Especially do so in a fair manner whereby both management and the unions get a fair shake. It’s upset the unions, and they aren’t sure they are going to be able to go along with it.

If the GOP isn’t busy already making commercials for 2024 highlighting the foolishness of this president, they are doomed to lose yet another election to the Democrats. If you’re telling me that the Republicans cannot find someone, ANYONE to defeat Joe Biden after the miserable two years he’s had and the mistakes he’s made, then we deserve to be a socialist country. Hell, you or I could run for president and defeat Joe Biden. I think the only person that says he’s a Republican that probably could and would lose to Biden is Donald Trump. But that’s the topic for yet another blog.

Both Republicans and Democrats on the Hill say that they can come together to solve this problem. And the problem is, is it going to be something that the unions and management will both agree to? Now to be sure, Congress can and has done this before. In fact, back in 1991, Congress voted to have union workers end a strike that had started just hours before and get back to work. So, this is nothing new for folks on the Hill. The problem for Biden is what that’s going to look like to the union heads, and will he still be the most union-friendly president in history? I think not.

Why KJP Fails Miserably At Her Job

Karine Jean-Pierre has faced a lot of criticism since taking over the podium as Press Secretary from Jen Psaki. And there’s good reason.

She sucks at her job.

The Biden administration wanted to make the appointment of KJP based, not on her ability to be a cogent and respected Press Secretary, but on being black, female, and gay. And this is what they got! They got a woman that isn’t very competent in dealing with the hungry monsters called the media in the daily press briefings.

Jean-Pierre continues to astound people with how unprepared she is on the simplest of topics. Rather than come into the briefings with a knowledge of the things she knows she will be asked, she refers to her over-bulging question-outline book she takes with her like someone in dire need of oxygen holds on to their oxygen canister. Without it, she stammers and stumbles like she’s in a drunken stupor. It’s embarrassing to watch.

The latest escapade that serves as a perfect example came on Tuesday this past week. KJP was taking questions from the media on the subject de jour, which happened to be Anthony Fauci. He’s scheduled to leave his post and retire sometime in December. The White House COVID Response Team was giving their assessment as to where the pandemic that isn’t anymore currently stands. During the Q&A session that followed, Daily Caller reporter, Diana Glebova asked Jean-Pierre what Fauci had done to investigate the origins of COVID. Instead of answering the question, KJP decided to obfuscate and redirect a barrage of salvo’s at Glebova. She said, “We have a process here. I’m not calling out on people who yell. And you’re being … disrespectful to your colleagues, and you’re being disrespectful to our guest, I will not call on you if you yell, and also you’re taking time off the clock because Dr. Fauci has to leave in a couple of minutes.”

Of course, that set off a firestorm. And when Glebova objected saying she was just asking the question that was on every reporters’ mind, she got the now famous retort, “I’m done!” from the Press Secretary.

Here’s the deal. If you’re going to be a Press Secretary in the White House, or any place in government for that matter, you’re going to get tough questions and you need to formulate your answer based on a logical and honest response, not based on garbage. Jen Psaki, who I believe wasn’t ever considered the best Press Secretary available, knew how to handle the press. Jean-Pierre is afraid of them. So, she lashes out when she can’t think of anything else to say. She turns the argument back on the reporter asking the question, even though it’s a fair question and she hasn’t given a reasonable response.

Compare KJP’s outburst with that of someone that was considered probably the best Press Secretary in the last 40 years, Tony Snow. He would often joke with the press on hard issues, and leave them with a pithy comment or two, but he always answered their questions. He respected their questions because he was one of them. It’s a rare occasion when you have the ability to understand what the reporter is going through and try to help them out while making sure you put the best spin on it for the White House. Jean-Pierre doesn’t understand that. I doubt she ever will.

The country (and the reporters in the room) need to be able to withstand poor Press Secretaries from time to time. And while KJP is undoubtedly the worst we’ve seen at the podium in quite some time, she does have some company. Marie Harf who was a spokesperson at the State Department after Jen Psaki moved to the White House during the Obama administration was also bad. Her saving grace was that she wasn’t featured on the national evening newscasts fumbling around quite as much as Karine, and thus came off smelling a little better.

At some point, Jean-Pierre is going to leave her post. Either she will be replaced by Joe Biden, or she will reach the point where she has had enough of those “savage reporters” and will quit, hoping to become a “contributor” at CNN or MSNBC. We can only hope that day comes sooner rather than later!

The Peter Principle

Oh, you know what that is. Basically, the Peter Principle is what happens when someone appears to have done a great job, they get promoted up the line, and do a slightly less great job. It keeps going until they get promoted to a job they suck at. And that is exactly what we see happening in our federal government right now.

Think about it. With very few exceptions, most of the people in Congress (and in the White House) started out on the local level. Maybe they were on a School Board somewhere, or a City Council. And then they went to the State House, and then the State Senate. Some may even have graduated to Governor of their state. And then they decided to run for a federal office like a Representative or a Senator. And there they realized they didn’t have to do much else for the rest of their lives.

And, for the most part, they got less and less effective the higher they went. Take Joe Biden for example. He started out his political career running (and winning) for a seat on the New Castle (DE) County Council. He was there for about two years before running for the US Senate, and winning. That was back in 1972. He was in the Senate from January of 1973 until he became Bobo Obama’s Vice President in January of 2009! Let me do the math…that was 37 years in the US Senate. You would figure he would have done a lot in that time. Well, sort of. He was instrumental in passing the Comprehensive Crime Control Act, which to this day African Americans blame him for. Oh. And he was the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee that basically shot down Robert Bork’s nomination to the Supreme Court back in 1988. Three years later, he was still on that committee as the whole Clarance Thomas/Anita Hill thing took place. His questions were so convoluted that Thomas had a hard time keeping up with what he was asking.

As Vice President, Biden did one thing typically. He increased the wealth of his son, Hunter, and himself by taking Hunter with him to Ukraine and China so the kid could make millions. Of course, we know by the leaked emails now that “the big guy” got about 10% of the take. That has yet to be proven, but it shows Joe’s penchant for the “one set of rules for thee, and another set for me” theory. Biden also was the guy that former Obama Defense Secretary, Robert Gates said, had “been on the wrong side of every foreign policy decision for the past 50 years.”

If there was ever a Peter Principle come to life for real, it’s been Joe Biden. Of course, you can point to others in his administration who have followed the same path to “success”. Alejandro Mayorkas, Pete Buttigieg, Kamala Harris, and yes, even Karine Jean-Pierre have all used the Peter Principle to advance themselves in government.

Now, before the two or three liberals who read this explode, telling me that there were several Republicans out there doing the same thing, I would agree. The Peter Principle is certainly non-partisan! But for illustration’s sake, it’s a LOT easier to bring up the current Democrats’ foibles, as they are so obvious and so many.

The Peter Principle is alive and well at every level of business and government. We have it here in the desert, where I sat on a Board of Directors for almost seven years. We hired a guy to be GM that daily proves me right that he had no business being interviewed, much less hired. It’s plaguing our nation, and it needs to stop. We have to stop hiring people based on the fact that they currently work somewhere, or they have the right gender or color of their skin, or they are of a certain sexual orientation. Here’s a novel concept. Why don’t we hire the best person for the job regardless all of the other factors? That would seem to make sense to me. I don’t have a clue what Democrats are missing!

Biden’s Growing Frustration

Joe Biden isn’t a happy man. He’s becoming more and more frustrated with the media. Oh, I know. Most presidents say the same thing at some point in their presidency. Even the uber-liberal press at some point desires meat to eat and wants to gore the Commander-In-Chief. But Biden can’t figure out why the three major TV networks, the New York Times, Washington Post, and other print rags, and cable news outlets like MSNBC and CNN are continuing to roast him.

Maybe it’s incompetence?

I mean, let’s look at the facts. Biden wants to blame the rest of the world for the high inflation. In reality, while the world is suffering from inflation as we are, it was caused by two things. The first was the over-spending without showing a need during COVID. Now, I’m not saying that some people that lost their paychecks and their jobs during the shutdown weren’t needing some relief. They were. I wasn’t. And I still got a couple thousand dollars stuffed into my bank account, even though I was doing just fine. That falls on both Biden and Donald Trump. They could have means-tested it before sending out the checks, but they didn’t. The second thing that caused the US inflation rate to spike was Biden’s insistence on spending money hand over fist to “Build Back Better”, and when that didn’t work, to pass some inflation reduction act that does nothing of the sort. In fact, it adds to the inflation rate for the next ten years.

Next up, you’ve got the country pissed at Biden because of historically high gas prices. Biden wants to blame this on COVID as well. And he wants to blame it on Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine. But Biden is the one that shut down the Keystone XL Pipeline on his first day in office. It wasn’t COVID, and it wasn’t Putin. In fact, gas prices started their upward spike on January 21, 2021. That was long before Putin thought of invading Ukraine. That one was all on Joe Biden. In the meantime, he’s decided to dwindle down our strategic petroleum reserves to the tune of over a million barrels of oil a day. And instead of allowing the oil companies greater freedom to drill, he’s tamped down the process, slow walked the approvals, and has tried to switch to an electric vehicle economy, even though we are decades away from having the technology to deal with it.

Biden’s handling of foreign affairs aren’t any better. He put K-baby Harris in charge of the Southern Border Crisis, because he didn’t want to leave the White House or do something that required actual work. It was too far over her head to even understand the problem, much less do anything about it. And of course, the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan killing 13 US Servicemen and women still stings over a year later, not to mention leaving hundreds of Americans behind, and thousands of Afghans that were helpful to our cause during the decade we were there. Now throw in the fact that Biden goes hat in hand to the Saudi’s to try and get them to increase oil production so he can brag about it prior to the midterms, and then try to get Iran to re-open discussions on Obama’s failed Iran Nuclear deal, and you’ve got someone that has been on the wrong side of every issue for a half a century.

Does Joe Biden have a leg to stand on to complain about how the media are handling him? It was much better when Jen “Circle Back” Psaki was the Press Secretary. She was at least able to deflect and handle the criticism at the podium in the press room. Karine Jean-Pierre isn’t even able to look the reporters in the eye when she reads the scripted answers to their questions. And she’s been caught in more lies than Pinocchio from the podium. This is a classic case on hiring someone for the job because of their sexual orientation, the color of their skin, and their gender, rather than their ability to actually do the job!

Sorry Joe. You don’t have anything to complain about. The press turning against you is long overdue. Maybe if you tried putting policies in place that actually helped America, you’d find the press corps more willing to be your partner? Just sayin’!

EXTRA! Just A Few Thoughts On Gas Prices

I couldn’t help by chuckle when I heard Karine Jean-Pierre describe the recent decline in gasoline prices as “exciting”, claiming that the price was heading to $4 a gallon.

It got me thinking, which is usually a dangerous thing.

Joe Biden has consistently blamed others for the rising gas prices that have soared in some places to over $7 a gallon. He blamed COVID. He blamed Donald Trump. He’s blamed Vladimir Putin. He’s blamed the Saudis. He’s blamed everyone but himself. Though he hasn’t mentioned that he’s made it damn near impossible to pump oil in this country. That, after Donald Trump put policies in place that allowed America to become an energy exporter for the first time I can recall.

So, if it was everybody’s fault BUT Joe Biden’s that gas prices were on the rise, how can it be Joe Biden is the savior and responsible for the lowering of the gas prices? If he didn’t raise them, but all of these outside sources were the cause of it, how can he take credit for lowering it? It just doesn’t make sense. I mean, if he could lower gas prices, as Jean-Pierre is claiming, then why did he let the price of gas get so high in the first place? If you can lower something, you can lower it. If it’s getting too high, why didn’t he stop it sooner?

Of course, the quick and easy answer is, he could have but he doesn’t want gas prices to go down. He wants gas prices to stay inflated. But he realized (or his staff realized since they are the ones calling the shots), that he went too far. America is far from ready to accept European gasoline prices. When the price of gas gets over $3 a gallon the country starts going into panic mode. When it tops $5, the gloves come off. At $7, there’s a revolution.

All of this seems to be a moot point because it looks like Biden and his Democrat buddies are heading for a tumultuous fall come November. I know they are trying everything they can find to try and get you to stop thinking about the economy. It doesn’t seem to be working. Yes, they are still blaming Donald Trump for the whole January 6th protest thing at the Capitol building. Yes, they are trying to pack the court, hold protests over the Dobbs v. Jackson SCOTUS ruling, and the whole idea to come up with something to get your mind off of the lousy job they’ve done since 2021. I really doubt at this point it’s too late to right the ship. There are so many bad things happening in our society today that even if Biden or the idiots in Congress could wave a magic wand and make them all disappear, they’d still probably lose.

But the liberals in the country seem determined to keep doubling down even though everyone at the table knows that they don’t even hold a pair of deuces in their hand. Yet, they want to go all in. They are content to die on the sword come November. I have no idea why they want to sink lower than they already are. Biden’s approval ratings are now well into the 30’s. He’s even touched the 20’s in some polls. And now, the word is that he won’t be running for reelection because of all of the problems. Word is that the one person that actually would have a shot of beating either Ron DeSantis or Donald Trump is thinking about putting out feelers…Michele Obama! Does she really want the headache? And if she were to win, could she actually fix Biden’s many mistakes or just make them all worse?

Karine Jean-Pierre needs to stick to the truth and call a spade a spade when she’s at the White House podium. We The People are tired of the lies.

When The White House Lies…

Growing up as a kid, you probably respected your parents. I know I did. If they said something, I just took it as fact. I mean, why would they lie to me? I trusted that they would have my best interests at heart and would act accordingly. I didn’t know that’s what I was doing at the time, but it’s exactly what I was doing. We as a nation are kind of the children of our leader in a sense. We expect that we should be able to respect our leader, and take what they say as fact. But as we’ve learned over the years, that’s just not the case.

And it gets worse with our current president.

Joe Biden’s Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre has had a rough start to her tenure, there’s no denying that. She has fumbled, mumbled, stumbled, and rumbled her way through the daily press briefings so poorly that even reporters from “friendly” publications and networks are turning on her. Tuesday was the latest episode.

Fox News’ Peter Doocy, who I never really thought very highly of until he landed his position as the White House Reporter, has continuously asked the tough questions, and pointed out when the administration was either wrong or lied to us. Former Press Secretary, Jen Psaki knew how to handle Doocy, though he usually got the upper hand on her. Jean-Pierre is totally lost.

In case you missed it, Tuesday, Doocy asked Jean-Pierre to comment on why there was a voicemail of the President giving his son business advice, when he has sworn tons of times that he “never discussed Hunter Biden’s business with him.” Jean-Pierre’s answer? “I’m not going to talk about alleged materials from the laptop.”

Well, that’s like your parents telling you that you can’t have any ice cream because it tastes bad. But it gets worse. Other reporters in the room, sensing that there was some shenanigans going on here, decided to chime in and ask why she didn’t answer Peter’s question. She was stumped.

This is a White House that if they don’t have the answer that they want to give, they either make something up on the fly that has to be walked-back in an hour or two by the communications team, or they deny and lie. That’s not what the President of the United States is for. Look, it’s a very simple thing here. If Joe Biden never had business dealings with his son, or discussed his business, he needs to say so. But if this voicemail message is accurate and correct, he needs to come clean. And that’s not just me saying that about a Democrat. I said the same thing about Donald Trump. I have said the same thing about George W. Bush. It doesn’t matter what party you’re from.

You don’t want parents to lie to you and tarnish your respect for them, and their credibility. Likewise, we don’t want a president of either party to lie to us or obfuscate the facts. If Biden is guilty of anything, he needs to come clean. He doesn’t have much credibility left, and when you’re approval ratings are so far under water that you’re almost in the 20% range, you have major problems. Not just for you and your electability, but for the whole party. And it seems that the whole Democrat party jumps on the Biden bandwagon and backs him regardless what nonsense he comes up with.

If that’s all true, then why on earth behind close doors are they trying to tell Biden not to run for reelection?

The Honeymoon Is Over

Typically, the Washington press corp gives an incoming president a honeymoon period to get used to their new surroundings, and the millions of things that they have to do that they had never done in the past. Typically that period runs about six months or so. In Joe Biden’s case, the honeymoon period has been about a year and a half.

But it appears to be over.

The broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) as well as the cable channels (CNN & MSNBC), and the liberal newspaper media (Washington Post, New York Times and countless others), seem to be tiring of having to cover for an administration that has so many gaffes, so many mis-steps, so many policy errors that even the most out of touch American understands this is an administration in trouble. And when the mainstream liberal media already has a lower credibility rating than used car salesmen, you have to wonder how much longer are they going to be giving Biden a break.

I don’t think it’s going to go on any longer. With the arrival of Karine Jean-Pierre as Press Secretary, and the departure of Jen Psaki, who at the very least understood how to handle the media, it’s becoming evident that the Washington press folks are starting to lose patience with both Jean-Pierre and Biden himself.

How many times has Biden ad-libbed a line or two from a speech, only to have the White House later come back and walk back what he said? How many times has the administration made a decision to do something, only to have it turn out worse than if a third grader with a bad attitude had made it? How often can Jean-Pierre read her answers from a prepared script when the reporters grill her with questions that any normal person would ask? And when in God’s name is she actually going to answer the question of how the administration was working on the baby formula problem “since February”, but Biden only heard of the problem in “early April”? The media wants to know which “senior advisor” briefed Biden on the topic, but Jean-Pierre isn’t about to throw anyone under the bus this early in her tenure.

We’ve seen this before, and it’s never a good thing for a sitting president. The press decides, in most cases, because of a lack of communications or simple answers, that they’ve had it and they turn from backing the president to slamming him any chance they can. In this case it not only hurts Biden and any chance he would have at reelection in 2024, it hurts the whole Democrat party. Not that the buffoons in Congress need any help looking feckless. But this time, the media had gone to the mat for Biden during the campaign. Time and time again, they had to battle the naysayers that said Biden wasn’t mentally fit for office, and that his gaffes showed more than just mis-speaking. It showed a total lack of knowledge on the subject at hand. Even Donald Trump got some better coverage than what Biden is getting these days. And it can only get worse.

Biden’s only hope is to get a win somewhere, and make it a big win. But we’ll have to wait to see if that can even happen. It needs to happen soon though, because we’re just seven months away from the Republicans taking over Congress. And when that happens, Biden basically becomes a lame duck. Quack!
