Shooting Themselves In The Foot

You almost have to laugh at the intensity that Democrats are trying to lose, not only this fall, but in 2024. I know what the pundits are saying. They keep harping on the narrative that the races are all tightening, and that the red wave may not be so blood red after all. I know I’ve written about how some of the Senate races are not that close. Well, they’re closing. And it looks like the Dem’s are pulling a play out of the old GOP playbook and are shooting themselves in the foot.

A lot of it has to do with Joe Biden.

After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Democrats thought that it would be the lynchpin in the Republicans chances to getting Congress back. Certainly no one would vote Republican in the tight Senate races! And here in the AZ, Mark Kelly is using two issues in all of his campaign ads…abortion, and privatizing social security (I didn’t even think that last one was a thing!)

And, as we’ve seen in a New York runoff for the House, abortion rights played a role in that one. In Kansas, voters there rejected doing away with abortions. But there is an underlying problem Democrats up for election this cycle all face.

It’s Joe Biden.

Biden’s decision to cut student loans by $10,000 for those making under $125,000 a year without a real plan on how to pay for it is swamping Democrats’ chances this fall. Apparently, K-baby Harris is the one that was adamant about pulling the trigger on it, and it could just be yet another K-baby hustle that goes flat (insert cackling laugh here). A poll by Reuter’s/Ipsos just released, and taken over two days since the student loan debacle was announced, showed that Biden’s approval rating, which had been climbing into the low to mid 40’s over the past couple of weeks is now at 38%. And that Democrats are taking the heat for it.

72% of Americans in a recent poll say that they are angry at Biden’s decision and that 61% say it will effect their vote come this November!

In Arizona, a new poll shows that Mark Kelly, who’s lead over Blake Masters was almost double digits a week ago, is now down within the margin of error. And that’s with Kelly running five ads to every one of Masters! A new presidential poll (which really doesn’t mean anything) shows that Biden would beat Trump in a presidential election if held today by one single solitary point, 43-42%. 8% said they wanted to vote for someone else.

And in case you’re thinking that the poll was weighted toward Republicans, 1,005 adults took part. 449 were Democrats, 357 were Republicans, and the last 199 were Independents.

Maybe there’s hope for this thing after all!

Despite Wins, Biden’s Poll Numbers Crater

Quinnipiac Poll just came out with their latest poll regarding presidential approval numbers. And despite the fact that Joe Biden seems to have had a pretty decent week or two lately, his numbers wouldn’t bear that out.

Overall, Biden’s approval numbers have fallen to 31%, his lowest ever. 94% of Republicans, 71% of Independents, and a whopping 67% of Democrats say Biden is doing a lousy job! He fared a little better among registered voters with 33% approving of his efforts and 59% against.

Biden’s handling of individual issues showed his weakness. Only 50% approved of his handling of COVID, with 43% against. 40% approve of the way he’s handling the Russia/Ukraine situation, 52% disapprove. On foreign policy, 33% approve, 62% disapprove.

But the two bottom categories are two categories that concern Americans most. On gun violence, Biden scores a 32% approval and 61% disapproval. And on the economy, which is going to probably be the largest campaign issue this fall, Biden is at a miserable 28%, while 66%, almost 2/3 of the electorate disapprove of it.

Is it any wonder the Dems are trying to find anyone that can run and do a better job than Biden? The problem, as I’ve said in the past, is they don’t have a bench at all. Voters have emphatically said that they don’t want to see people running again that ran in the past and lost. That would eliminate people like K-baby Harris, Hillary Clinton, Pete Buttigieg, Elizabeth Warren, and of course, Bernie Sanders. It does seem to open the door for people like Gavin Newsome. But with his tarnished record running California, I can only assume there would be enough people that would reject his candidacy pretty quickly.

As far as a Biden/Trump matchup in 2024? Well, according to Quinnipiac, Americans are looking at someone different in both parties. Only 24% feel Biden should run again, while 70% say he shouldn’t. Trump doesn’t fare much better. 32% say he should try for reelection, while 60% say he should stay in Florida.

As far as favorables for say, the top four candidates? Trump is the most popular with 37% approval. He’s followed by Biden at 35% (as a candidate, not the presidential approval rating). Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis has 31% approval, but 35% of the respondents hadn’t heard enough information about him to make a decision. And K-baby Harris brings up the rear with just 27% approval.

It will certainly make an interesting primary season. You KNOW that Biden is going to be primaried, and I bet Trump is as well. It’ll be interesting to see if either of them is strong enough to get through 2023 unscathed.

There Are NO Leaders Here!

If you want to take a look at what’s bugging America, just log on to Real Clear Politics. They have a listing of the “political leaders” job approval numbers and it’s rather dismal.

Yes, it’s no surprise to anybody that Joe Biden continues to fall. The only surprise is how low a point he’s falling to. Pretty soon, these polls will start listing his approval numbers by listing the names of people still supporting him. It’s that bad. His numbers range from a high of 43% approval and 51% disapproval in the latest Economist/YouGov poll, which traditionally is one of the more liberal polls out there, to a low of 35% approval and 56% disapproval in the latest Quinnipiac poll. Rasmussen’s latest poll has him at a 60% disapproval rating. His average, according to Real Clear Politics is now sitting at 38.9%, the lowest in history.

But poor Joe isn’t the only politician in DC to receive low marks. Kamala Harris’ average approval rating is sitting at 30%. Nancy Pelosi is at 33.8%. Chuckles Schumer is at 30%. Soon-to-be Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy is at 28%, and at the bottom is Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell at 25%.

It’s obvious that America doesn’t think that highly of the various political leaders of either party. And while that’s terrible news for Democrats who basically have control of the legislative and executive branches of government, there doesn’t seem to be much support for the leaders of the Republican party in either house of Congress either.

So the question is why?

Basically I think it’s because of a couple of reasons. First of all, the country is in miserable shape. That can be laid squarely at the feet of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and the Democrats that are controlling Congress now. When you have the highest gas prices on record, inflation running higher than it has in 40 years due to the over-printing of money, and a border crisis that the administration and Congress have both declined to do anything about, it’s bad. Now we throw onto that pile a baby formula shortage, a siracha shortage (wait…it’s coming!), and supply chain issues that have beguiled Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg. Add rising street crime in major cities, and it’s no wonder people are begging for a change in leadership. Even Democrats are screaming that they want someone other than Joe Biden running as their candidate in 2024.

It all comes down to what I would call an infectious partisanship. Democrats don’t want to work with Republicans. They are more interested in making the Republicans look bad any way possible, that they forget about doing “America’s business” of running the country. Just look at the latest/greatest committee hearings going on. The January 6th special committee is garnering all of the mainstream media attention right now. They are doing their darndest to make sure that Donald Trump is wounded as severely as possible prior to his announcing his candidacy for the 2024 election.

Democrats realize that they have to do all of this now because it’s becoming painfully obvious to even the most casual observer that the midterms are going to be a red wave like we haven’t seen in decades. And they have resigned themselves to the fact they will lose Congress, so they need to get this stuff accomplished right now! After January, they won’t be able to control committees to hold Donald Trump liable for anything. The only problem with their theory is that people have a short memory and we’re over two years away from Trump actually getting votes in a presidential election (should he even decide to run). That will be two years of Republican rule in Congress, and the Democrats only real spokesperson will be Joe Biden, who American has already given up on.

There is not doubt there needs to be changes in DC. The federal government is broken. It needs to not just be fixed. It needs to be over-hauled and returned to what the Founding Fathers intended it to be. If we don’t do that, we languish with nothing getting done and the country slipping away, just as England, France, and Spain did centuries ago.

It’s Official!

The entire political crowd inside the beltway is talking about Joe Biden, and not in a good way. The latest Associated Press poll came out, one of the few that basically had Biden still simmering at 41%. But that was before the latest monthly poll came out. He has dropped down to 39%. That’s lower than Donald Trump at this point in his tenure, and it’s lower than where he was a year ago in the AP poll by about 24%! That’s right. Last April, Biden’s poll numbers were at 63% approval! You almost have to try to become the least popular president in American history to top that!

And the rest of the news wasn’t as good for the 46th president. Only two in ten Americans said the country was on the right track, down from three in ten last time around. What’s really interesting is when you get inside the numbers, you find it’s not the Republicans or even the independents that are shying away from Biden…it’s his own Democrats! Only 73% of Democrats approve of Biden’s job so far, and that’s down from 82% a year ago. In fact, Democrats held Biden at 82% approval all throughout 2021.

When asked if Biden’s policies have helped or hurt the economy, 18% said they’ve helped. That’s down from 24% in March as the inflation spiral starts to take hold, and the food and baby formula shortages are increasing. Over half the country (51%) have said his policies have hurt the country, while 30% said that his policies haven’t made a difference one way or the other.

In a separate poll from Quinnipiac, Biden’s support among Hispanic voters is now at 26%. That’s down from 55% a year ago. And in terms of November’s midterm elections, it doesn’t get any better. There is a nine point swing toward Republicans when it comes to the “generic ballot” question…you know…will you vote for the Republican or the Democrat? I can’t recall Republicans ever having that big of a margin over the Dems! One model shows there will be a 44 seat swing in the House to the Republicans, giving them a solid majority. But what’s shocking is the Senate. The same model shows the GOP picking up 11 seats. That would give them 61, and would mean they don’t need Democrats to vote in anything! They would be only six seats away from veto-proof majority, and that’s saying something!

It’s just the latest prediction that there is a red-wave-tsunami coming and it doesn’t appear Democrats have any chance of slowing it down, much less stopping it. That may be why Biden and Nancy Pelosi are trying to double down on the Dem’s uber-liberal agenda. They know the end is coming soon and they want to pass anything and everything they can before next January!

Who HASN’T Biden Upset?

To say Joe Bide has upset Republicans and moderate to conservative independent voters is a no brainer. But it goes far beyond that. Joe Biden apparently has made it his goal to become the least successful president in United States history. And it appears that could very well be the only goal Biden can achieve at this point.

So the question is, who hasn’t Joe Biden upset in his first nine months in office?

Obviously conservatives, and independents. He’s fallen in the approval ratings to 37% among independent voters and just 5% of Republican voters think he’s doing a good job. But there is a growing list of Democrats and liberals that are upset at him as well. Let’s examine why.

Biden first got into office and wanted to be “transformational”. Do you remember that word being used by another recent administration? Bobo Obama used it throughout his 2008 campaign. And when he got into the White House, he tried. Two years later, and getting crapped on in the midterms, he realized that transformational change can’t happen in DC. Apparently, Jokin’ Joe missed that meeting.

Instead of being transformational, Biden seems to have hit as the eye of the perfect storm in the Democrat party. On one hand you’ve got the moderates, and there are still a lot of them out there. These are people like Joe Manchin, Kyrsten Sinema and the like (and there are plenty in the House as well) that DINO’s (Democrats in name only). They believe in tradition. They believe in fiscal responsibility. And they believe in America. Then you’ve got the socialist snowflakes. They don’t believe in tradition. They want to destroy America so they can rebuild it into their socialist panacea. And they have no desire to be responsible when it comes to spending other people’s money. And there’s Joe Biden, stuck in the middle. The guy that told the world he could work across the aisle and bring Republicans and Democrats together can’t even bring his own party together.

And let’s take a look at the people that got him elected. Young voters (18-30), came to Biden in droves because he promised to erase student loan debt. He promised to make college free. He failed on both accounts. You’ve got the environmentalist crowd that was all excited when one of Biden’s first duties was to cancel the Keystone XL Pipeline project, even though it was well underway. He cancelled thousands of jobs on that one. But since then, his climate change initiative has stalled in Congress as the moderates and the socialists fight over the spending amounts. And it doesn’t look like his climate change proposal will look anything like he wants it to.

Biden wanted to transform our immigration system. He wanted to go back to the days of “Give us your tired, poor huddled masses yearning to be free!” Instead, he’s opened the southern border to just about every Latin American that has the ability to walk several hundred miles, bringing all sorts of COVID into the country. He doesn’t have a plan on how to solve the border issue, and hasn’t even visited the border in the nine months he’s been in office. And his Vice President, K-baby Harris, who was appointed early on as the point person to solve the border crisis, visited El Paso, Texas once. Just once. She was there for about 85 minutes, shook a few hands, and left. Nothing accomplished there.

Then you’ve got the anti-gun lobby. They were juiced when during the primary debates last year, Biden stood up and said he was going to do something about all of the shootings in this country. Of course, that hasn’t happened, and liberal run cities like St. Louis, Chicago, New York, Seattle, Portland, and Los Angeles are still war zones with shootings and killings every single night of the week. No one has gotten rid of anyone’s guns. Not even in Chicago, where it’s still illegal to carry a gun in the city. That hasn’t stopped the shootings. And Joe Biden sits in his basement in Delaware wondering how it all went so wrong.

Then you’ve got the supply chain crisis. Over 100 ships are currently stacked up off Long Beach, California with literally tens of thousands of containers filled with merchandise. Maybe it’s a Christmas present you’ve ordered for your kids or grandkids. Maybe it’s a food item that’s coming in from overseas. Maybe it’s a sweater. It could be anything. But the lack of longshormen workers and truckers to move the merchandise is causing such a backup it’s going to take a year to sort out. And Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg is content to stay at home on “maternity” leave with his gay husband and newly adopted daughter, saying everyone else has that right for maternity leave, why not me?

And then you’ve got the economy. Because of Biden’s unwillingness to adhere to fiscal responsibility, he’s printed so much money, and overspent so much on crap we don’t need (with more in the pipeline), that inflation which had been at about 1 to 1.5% under Donald Trump is now five times that and growing. That has slowed the economy. Jobs are plentiful because until September, Biden had been paying people extra just to sit on their couch and watch TV. The economy teeters on the brink of a major recession, and Biden doesn’t even realize it. His jobs numbers come in a half a million jobs below the estimate and he’s happy to have added a hundred thousand jobs to the picture.

We haven’t even begun to talk about foreign policy goofs. The botched Afghanistan withdrawal, where Americans are still there living in fear and in hiding from the Taliban because Biden left them behind. We haven’t mentioned the Critical Race Theory that socialist teacher’s unions have foisted upon Boards of Education all over the country. We haven’t talked about how it’s ok for rioters to loot and burn in the street and it’s only a misdemeanor, yet parents who show up to give their Boards of Education hell for not educating their kids properly are being deemed “terrorists” by the FBI?

The Democrats that elected Joe Biden saw a once in a generation opportunity to get their agendas passed. What they’ve received with their hard work is a guy that can’t work with his own party, much less the rest of the Congress. He’s out of touch with not only America, but reality. Even Joe starts chanting “Let’s Go Brandon!” not realizing what those people in the stands at sporting events around the country are really yelling.

America has been upset by Joe Biden. About the only people that aren’t are Jill Biden, Ron Klain, Chuckie Schumer, and Nancy Pelosi. I have a feeling they’ll all be getting theirs in just over a year!

Reuters: Not A Fun Summer For Biden!

Joe Biden may not be saying anything publicly yet…but he’s not off to a good start this summer. Reuters released a monthly poll showing that Democrats, not Republicans or Independents are leaving the Biden train at a rapid rate. And the reason is simple. Biden has left behind those that got him elected.

In a time when businesses can’t find enough people to fill the jobs that are out there, Biden is facing some major employment problems. The May number of unemployment was 9.1% for blacks. It was 5.1% for whites. If you have a college degree, you’re probably employed (if you want to be). Unemployment for college degreed folks was 3.2%, while if you have just a high school education it’s 6.8%. And that’s at a time when businesses can’t find enough workers to keep their doors open!

The economy has replaced COVID as the number one problem in America right now. And with the country supposed to grow at a 7% rate this year (normally 3.5% is considered good!), it’s a wonder why most of America is choosing the economy as the biggest problem. Most Democrat strategists say it’s because Biden has not taken along the very people he relied on to get him elected. That could spell all sorts of trouble in not only 2022 for the midterms, but if and when Biden chooses to seek a second term in 2024.

Overall, Biden, according to Reuters has a 55% approval rating, but his numbers keep dropping among Democrats. Especially among Democrats under 40 without a college education. College educated Dems’ are also under the gun when it comes to giving Biden their support. The thing that should concern Biden the most is the fact that only three in four Democrats support him at this point, and that’s down from 94% back on inauguration day. You can’t lose 20% of the support of folks on your side of the aisle and expect to do well.

The economy isn’t the only thing that bothers Democrats. They are also concerned that Biden isn’t moving quickly enough on the infrastructure bill, and that he has yet to really tackle immigration reform, reuniting America, and federalizing a voting rights bill. They also are abandoning Biden on gun violence. His approval rating there has dropped 8 points overall since April and 11 points from Democrats. Add to all of that that only 35% of Americans think the country is headed in the right direction, and 44% are “very concerned” about the future of the economy, and Biden is going to be in for quite a ride.

I guess it may be time for him to head back to Maryland for the summer. Maybe he can live in his basement and get away from all of the negativity!
