Winning Isn’t Enough

Republicans are excited about the midterm elections and have been since Joe Biden took office. Democrats are worried and are already throwing down the gauntlet as to what the country will look like under a split Congress at best. According to several Democrats, nothing will get done (usually not necessarily a bad thing!) and there will be more and more government shutdowns as Congress disagrees with itself as to what the spending priorities and amounts should be.

Five Thirty Eight has the Republicans winning the House of Representatives with a 70% likelihood. They have the Democrats maintaining control of the Senate with the same percentage.

So, if that’s the case, it’s not enough for the Republicans to play defense. They need to get on offense and tell the country exactly what they will do if they become the majority party in Congress. So far, Dems have been able to control the message, making Donald Trump the foe, and talking January 6th protest and abortion. They say the GOP is going to “take away” Social Security, which is a lie because all the GOP is doing is suggesting that Social Security be privatized as a way to maintain it past 2035 when it goes bankrupt. That’s really nothing more than investing in the stock market, something that every single person with a 401k account currently does.

But it’s not enough for the GOP to react to that. They need to come up with a plan on what they are going to do if elected to lead in the House. Democrats think the GOP will hold all sorts of hearings on Alejandro Mayorkas, Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and the like. They will hold hearings on Critical Race Theory and Climate Change. They’ll tackle hearings on overspending. But that’s not enough. America needs answers, not hearings.

Here’s what I’d do if I were in charge…

First fix the friggin’ border. Finish the wall, hire 87,000 Border Patrol agents, not IRS agents. I’d defund that IRS plan in a heartbeat and send the money to fix the border. Then I would come up with a comprehensive immigration reform package that basically says who is allowed into this country, who isn’t, and what the punishment is, if you come in illegally for any reason.

Next up, we tackle over-spending. I’d get a Constitutional Amendment for a balanced budget. If Dems want to crank up the Bureau of Engraving’s printing presses 24/7, then they have to find a way to pay for it. That means raising taxes on everyone. If that’s done, you’ll see inflation come down.

I would also put the size of the Supreme Court into a Constitutional Amendment. It should be nine people. That’s what it’s been at for the majority of time the Supreme Court has been around. The Judiciary Act of 1869 states that the Supreme Court should have a Chief Justice and eight associate justices. It’s already federal law. It needs to be a Constitutional Amendment so Democrats (or Republicans) can’t pack the court.

I would make it a federal law that for the safety of the nation, all communities must hire and pay the wages of a police force and keep them trained. Not a token cop or two, but a force! Put more blue on the streets, and watch the crime rate decline.

Next up, I’d make it illegal to fund programs with questionable data, like Climate Change. It’s not that the climate isn’t changing. It’s that they keep changing the models saying humans are the cause of it and what the catastrophic results would be.

I would make it illegal for anyone in Congress to buy or sell stock, and the same goes for anyone in their families. You can’t hide behind your spouse’s trades anymore. We all know you’re giving them inside information! If Martha Stewart can go to jail for it, so can Nancy and Paul Pelosi. And yes, that would include Republicans that trade on it as well (there are a lot on each side of the aisle).

Finally, I would put term limits into effect. We have them for the President. We have them in 35 states. We should have them in Congress as well.

That should be enough to keep everyone busy for two years until we win back the White House and take control of the Senate!

It’s Official!

The entire political crowd inside the beltway is talking about Joe Biden, and not in a good way. The latest Associated Press poll came out, one of the few that basically had Biden still simmering at 41%. But that was before the latest monthly poll came out. He has dropped down to 39%. That’s lower than Donald Trump at this point in his tenure, and it’s lower than where he was a year ago in the AP poll by about 24%! That’s right. Last April, Biden’s poll numbers were at 63% approval! You almost have to try to become the least popular president in American history to top that!

And the rest of the news wasn’t as good for the 46th president. Only two in ten Americans said the country was on the right track, down from three in ten last time around. What’s really interesting is when you get inside the numbers, you find it’s not the Republicans or even the independents that are shying away from Biden…it’s his own Democrats! Only 73% of Democrats approve of Biden’s job so far, and that’s down from 82% a year ago. In fact, Democrats held Biden at 82% approval all throughout 2021.

When asked if Biden’s policies have helped or hurt the economy, 18% said they’ve helped. That’s down from 24% in March as the inflation spiral starts to take hold, and the food and baby formula shortages are increasing. Over half the country (51%) have said his policies have hurt the country, while 30% said that his policies haven’t made a difference one way or the other.

In a separate poll from Quinnipiac, Biden’s support among Hispanic voters is now at 26%. That’s down from 55% a year ago. And in terms of November’s midterm elections, it doesn’t get any better. There is a nine point swing toward Republicans when it comes to the “generic ballot” question…you know…will you vote for the Republican or the Democrat? I can’t recall Republicans ever having that big of a margin over the Dems! One model shows there will be a 44 seat swing in the House to the Republicans, giving them a solid majority. But what’s shocking is the Senate. The same model shows the GOP picking up 11 seats. That would give them 61, and would mean they don’t need Democrats to vote in anything! They would be only six seats away from veto-proof majority, and that’s saying something!

It’s just the latest prediction that there is a red-wave-tsunami coming and it doesn’t appear Democrats have any chance of slowing it down, much less stopping it. That may be why Biden and Nancy Pelosi are trying to double down on the Dem’s uber-liberal agenda. They know the end is coming soon and they want to pass anything and everything they can before next January!

Could COVID Be “Officially” Over?

It kind of looks that way. Especially if you understand what the US Senate has just sent over to the House of Representatives as far as a funding bill for the rest of the year.

In case you missed it, the Senate has passed a $1.5 trillion bill that would fund the government through the end of September (the end of the fiscal year). And while Biden is going to get some $13.6 billion in aid to Ukraine that he asked for, he’s going to not be happy that all funding for COVID got stripped out of the Senate’s version of the bill. That means in essence, the US Government is going to be out of the COVID business as of the 18th of this month.

There won’t be money to buy more vaccines; there won’t be money to buy more “boosters”; and if your insurance company isn’t in a generous mood come this fall when the flu shots roll out, you may be on the hook for paying for your COVID shot as well. And if another wave of COVID should hit? Well, there won’t be any funding to deal with it.

And, I guess I should throw in that if you haven’t already signed up for the “free” test kits that you can get delivered to your home through the post office, when the supply runs out, there won’t be any money to replenish the kits. Also, if it’s a really bad variant that hits, and the country shuts down, there won’t be money to send to you. No more “stimi checks”.

Frankly, it’s about time. This has been a boondoggle that has carried on far too long. Omicron was a variant that yes, harmed and even killed some people, but when you look at the numbers, we’ve turned the corner and the succeeding variants have been more contagious, but less lethal, so it’s kind of like the flu in that regard. And while the feds have extended the mask mandate on air travel through April 18th, they really see the writing on the wall. America is just plain tired of COVID and doesn’t want anything to do with it any longer.

Pretty much everyone that wanted to get vaccinated has been. Pretty much everybody that wanted to get a booster shot has gotten it. And pretty much America wants to be done with masks and social distancing. It’s now been over two years dealing with this. Joe Biden swore during the 2020 campaign that “he had a plan to fix this”. His plan allowed over 700,000 people to die (compared to about 200,000 under Donald Trump). Some plan! It’s just another example of a Biden screw up that has cost Americans.

I think at this point, the vast majority of people worried about COVID are the ones sitting in the halls of Congress, and at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. The rest of America has moved on.

How Fate Ruins The Democrats

Oh, I’m not saying that fate is going to do it, but it could happen. There are several scenarios where we wouldn’t have to wait until 2023 before the GOP takes over Congress. Well, that’s not 100% true. It would be the GOP taking over the Senate, but that’s still pretty much the same thing. It would be the death blow to Joe Biden’s presidency!

Here is how it could work.

Let’s say that the pressure on Joe Manchin to cave on his much publicized stand on getting rid of the filibuster gets to him. But rather than cave, Joe decides that he’s going to stop being a Democrat. Maybe he doesn’t join the Republican party, but he becomes an independent that caucuses with the Republicans (it’s rare, but it HAS happened!) So, in that case, the Democrats now have 49 people on their side of the aisle, and with Manchin, the Republicans can count on 51. That means that Mitch McConnell automatically becomes the new Majority Leader and Chuckles Schumer slides to Minority Leader. That can happen at any time.

Actually it has happened in recent history. Back in 2001, Vermont’s Jim Jeffords, who was a Republican got angry at George W. Bush, and decided to become an independent. It was the same situation as today, where the Senate was evenly divided 50/50, and with Jeffords leaving the GOP, it gave the Dems’ the upper hand and Tom Daschle became Majority Leader.

There are other ways as well. Let’s say for instance, and I’m not wishing this on anyone…but let’s say that a Democrat Senator passes away from a heart attack. And for grins and giggles, let’s say that he’s from one of the 37 states that has it in their Constitution that if a Senator or a Representative leaves office, the Governor of that state can replace them. Now, there are only seven of the 37 states that require the Governor to pick someone from the same party as the person leaving Congress, meaning that there are 30 states that give the Governor free reign to choose whomever they want.

As of this coming Saturday, you have nine states that boasts a Republican Governor and at least one Democrat Senator. Virginia Governor-elect, Glenn Younkin takes office on January 15th. So, Virginia, along with Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maryland, Georgia, Arizona, Ohio, and Montana all fit the bill. However, Maryland and Arizona have to choose someone from the same party as outlined above.

So, if, going back to our scenario, say, a Bernie Sanders was to pass away suddenly, or get ill and need to be replaced, the Governor of Vermont, Phil Scott, could name his replacement, and it could be a Republican. That would sway the balance of power to the GOP.

That would basically put an end to any Biden agenda, any wild spending, any thought of a filibuster rule change, or “packing the court”, at least for the time being. And it may just bring down the price of gasoline, fix the supply chain, help along the southern border before the spring caravans start back up, and start to return America to where it needs to go.

And if it doesn’t happen… we just vote out the scoundrels in November, and start fresh!

Mass Exodus!

I said in a few different blogs over the past couple of weeks that the sure way to tell if the Democrats are in trouble for next year, other than listening to the media pundits who are usually wrong, is to watch for the folks that are retiring. And, over the past couple of weeks, there have been over a dozen Dems’ who have opted to call it quits on the House side.

The latest to throw in the towel is Jackie Speier (D-CA), who said that her 43 years of service both statewide and in the federal government is enough, and “it’s time to come home”. That seems to be a pretty routine cry from the folks that are leaving. Here’s the list as of this writing…there may be more!

John Yarmuth of Kentucky, David E. Price of North Carolina, Ron Kind of Wisconsin, Ann Kirkpatrick of Arizona, Mike Doyle and Connor Lamb of Pennsylvania, Anthony Brown of Maryland, Cheri Bustos of Illinois, Filemon Vila of Texas, Val Demings of Florida, GK Butterfield of North Carolina, and Eddie Bernice Johnson of Texas lead the way for Democrats calling it quits. Meanwhile, Republicans, Adam Kinzinger of Illinois (he may as well be a Democrat), Anthony Gonzalez of Ohio, Kevin Brady of Texas, and Tom Reed of New York have decided to either step down or run for a different office as well.

Over on the Senate side, it’s a different story. Only one Democrat has decided to call it quits. Patrick Lahey from Vermont announced last week that he wouldn’t be seeking another term. There are five Republicans not going forward, Rob Portman from Ohio, Richard Burr from North Carolina, Pat Toomey from Pennsylvania, Richard Shelby from Alabama, and Roy Blunt from Missouri all have called it quits at the end of their term.

While you might think that the GOP could lose seats in the Senate over this, only Toomey’s seat has the possibility of flipping. The others are pretty well locked in as far as red states are concerned, though Missouri sometimes throws a monkey wrench into the mix.

The point to be taken here is that it looks as if what was predicted is beginning to happen. Democrats, especially in the House, where they only have a slim majority and a lot of infighting with progressive snowflake liberals, are fed up and looking to get out rather than face a bruising, and possibly fatal election process. There’s nothing more embarrassing for an incumbent than to be primaried out of their seat by their own party. And progressive snowflakes are vowing to do that to the more moderate members of the House.

I have to say, I’m cautiously optimistic about the Republican’s chances of basically ending the Biden administration’s agenda come January of 2023. There is still a long way to go and a lot can happen in a year. But seeing the total lack of uniformity, the lack of clear ideas and policies that mesh with the American people, and the bumbling idiot at the top of their party, I feel pretty good right now that Republicans have a solid shot to win back both sides of Congress.

And besides, Biden isn’t able to campaign much for people. He certainly doesn’t have the drive the Bobo Obama had, and he doesn’t have the popularity either. And rumor has it the Biden folks are working on a plan to eighty-six K-baby Harris from her job as VP and are looking to replace her with someone more likeable. Whether or not they can find a constitutional way to do that which doesn’t further exacerbate Biden’s lack of ability to lead has yet to be seen. Whatever happens, you can bet that it will piss off at least some of the people that are K-baby fans if there are still any of them out there!

Democrats’ View On Their “Mandate”

Oh, yes…they think they still have a “mandate”. Even if Joe Biden won by the slimmest of margins, that some people still feel was stolen from Donald Trump. Even though the House of Representatives and Nancy Pelosi’s reign is about to collapse in a scant twelve months. Even though the Senate is teetering on the brink of gridlock, tied at 50/50, and all polls showing that the nation is tired of Democrats’ in-fighting and not being able to do the public’s business, but are more interested in trying to pack the Supreme Court, or get rid of the filibuster rule that’s been in place since 1837! They still believe that they have all the answers, and by God, you’re going to sit up and listen to them!

So, they feel they have not only a right, but a moral obligation to slam socialist agenda after communist manifesto down your throats, regardless how you feel about it. And this past Friday night’s passage of the extremely pared back infrastructure bill that only took seven months to debate and pass both houses of Congress is a living example of it. Democrats feel rejuvenated that they were able to actually pass a bill and get some added money that they can spend, even if it was only $1.2 trillion.

Unfortunately for the Democrats, they are missing the big picture. America did not give them a mandate. America gave them a “we’re sick of tweets from Donald Trump” approval and it became the lesser of two evils. I’ve always said that if Donald Trump had not behaved like a Manhattan real estate developer, but more as a normal human being, he would have won reelection in a landslide. When you allow your ego to come into play as much as Trump did during COVID, to the point where you need to be at a podium thanking everyone that is helping out every single day for two hours, it becomes too much, and Americans turned against him. Not that they were every really all that much for him. His approval ratings were pretty much in the 40’s throughout his term.

But the Democrats were wrong to think that because they held a slim majority in the House and had a tie, broken only by the Vice President in the Senate, that they somehow had a mandate to systematically try to transform America into the next Cuba. And the poor approval numbers for Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, Sanders, and AOC show that America is not ready to drive around in 1950 style cars that are cobbled together with spare parts, and drink mojito’s. Well, maybe the mojitos. But certainly not the living conditions that most Cubans find themselves in.

Joe Biden now feels that since he got his infrastructure bill through Congress, a Congress his party controls, that he can continue on traveling down his path of incredible destruction of this country. I think you’re going to see some systematic changes all right…but not the kind that Joe Biden is looking to invoke.

First and foremost, we’ve got a Senate that is on vacation until after tomorrow’s Veterans’ Day. They’ll most likely be back in session on the 15th, but only for a short time. Don’t forget, we’ve got Thanksgiving come up the week after that, and then there is only a very short window before Christmas and New Years. And to try and get much passed between now and then is going to be rough, though he’s hoping that he can get another trillion or so added to his honey pot to dip into and throw to unions, socialist programs like Green New Deal, and other boondoggles that have been proven not to work.

Then you move into 2022, which is an election year. Can anyone tell me how popular Congress feels it is to pass any major legislation during a midterm election year, especially when the party in power is expected to lose both houses? There are two chances…slim and none, and I just saw slim getting on an airplane, much to AOC’s chagrin. I don’t expect much in the way of anything but partisan bickering next year.

And then we can get some real work done in November of 2022, and start turning things around after that!

Biden Against Filibuster Removal… Again.

You have to admit one thing when it comes to Joe Biden. You have no idea where he’s going with his belief system. One day he’s against abortion because he’s Catholic. The next day he’s for abortion because while HIS religion says you can’t do it, he doesn’t feel it’s his place to tell a woman not to do it. Just think what Jesus would have thought about that logic!

Well, the same thing holds true when it comes to the Senate Democrats’ threat to end the filibuster. Back in the day, when Biden was actually in the Senate, he said it was a stupid idea. He was totally against it. He even felt that way on the campaign trail (his basement) last year. Then he gets elected, and he changes his mind. He realizes that with a 50-50 split in the Senate, there’s no way in the world he can get anything passed that doesn’t have to do with an appointment, or “budget reconciliation”. So, he comes out in favor of it.

Now apparently, he’s found a middle ground. Oh, he’s said this before, but he’s landed on what he feels is a safe space. Biden’s take now is that the 60 vote rule known as filibuster should stay in place, but only like it was when his good pal, Strom Thurmond used it to filibuster the passing of the Civil Rights Legislation back in the 1960’s. Thurmond spoke for 24 straight hours without yielding the floor. THAT is the filibuster Biden is in favor of keeping. He’s not in favor of needing some sort of “supermajority” to pass legislation.

But that’s where he’s dead wrong.

If you go back to the founding of our country and what the Fathers back then wanted, they wanted the House of Representatives to be the “House of the People”, where the weird and imaginative ideas could be brought out. The Senate on the other hand was the more deliberative body. They were the ones that wanted to take the time, slow things down, hash things out, debate, and without time limits or restrictions. Hence, if you wanted to talk for 24 hours straight, you could.

Biden did get one thing right. He said that if they get rid of the filibuster, his whole legislative agenda is out the window because Congress would slump into chaos. And I thought they were already there! He’s afraid of what I would call the “Harry Reid Effect”. Remember when Reid decided to help Bobo Obama in his first term by allowing 51 votes to pass nominations (except Supreme Court Justices). That allowed Obama to pack the federal courts with liberal judges. And it worked. Until the Democrats weren’t in charge of the Senate anymore. Then the Republicans, playing tit for tat, expanded the nomination rule to include Supreme Court Justices. Now a mere 51 votes could seat someone on the high court bench. Apparently Reid wasn’t as brilliant as he was made out to be. Democrats passed the “budget reconciliation” way back in 1974 when Mike Mansfield (D, MT) got the bill passed.

Biden is afraid that with the looming changeover in 2022, Republicans may very well decide his term is over and not pass anything that he proposes if he backs the ouster of the filibuster. And he’s probably right on that account!

It’s Just The First Punch

Earlier this past week, the Republicans used the dreaded filibuster to end the Democrats’ hopes of insuring a Democrat Congress and Presidency long into the future. They tried it with something called “For The People Act”, better known as H1 and S1.

It wasn’t the first time it’s been tried.

Fresh off an election that had a lot of people screaming that the entire national election was thrown because of fraudulent voting and ballot stuffing in five states, Democrats seemed to want no part of that in the future. Well, no part of being accused. So, they put together H1, which basically increased rather than decreased the ability and possibility of fraudulent voting across the country. It would do that by increasing mail-in voting, where there is no way of absolutely knowing who voted, how many times they voted or if the ballots were actually real or reproduced.

And the Republicans decided, since they had a minority in the Senate, the only way to stop this robbing of the freedom to elect whomever we want, was to use the filibuster, they did. And did it ever piss off the Democrats. Now they are calling it the “Killibuster” because it ruined their day. Actually what it did was save the day, just as the Founding Fathers had planned.

The Senate was never supposed to be this knee-jerk, quick response body. That was what the House of Representatives was for. There, people could float weird new ideas and see if they stuck. If they did, the Senate would deliberate. They would poke holes in it. They were the adults in the room, whereas the House was the teenager with the messy bedroom who only wanted to go out on Friday and Saturday nights.

And since the filibuster was put into place, it’s been used by the minority to slow down and in a lot of cases halt the process of making a bill law. I can tell you that if you were to research the history of the number of laws, a lot of them really bad ideas, that the filibuster has prevented from getting to the President’s desk, you’d be amazed. “For The People Act” was just one example of that.

No, the Democrats want to figure out how to end the filibuster because it stands in their way of taking total control. It’s a typical Democrat response really. If you can’t win through legitimate means, then change the rules so you can. If you can’t win by changing the rules, it’s ok to cheat to win because the important thing is THAT you win. The ends justifies the means with these folks.

But don’t think for a minute that the Democrats’ chances to end the filibuster are over. They’re just getting warmed up. And don’t think that H1 and S1 are going away. Oh, it’s going away for this session, but like the attempts to get rid of the filibuster, it may fail this time around but it will be back in some other fashion up the road. It always is.

We can thank Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema, two Democrat Senators that have publicly said they are not going to back the party by trying to take away the filibuster. That means that there are only 48 Senators that would back it currently. And if all of the Republicans would stick together, along with Manchin and Sinema, it loses 48-52. That’s far less than the 60 votes required to get rid of it. And Dems’ haven’t figured out how to include getting rid of the filibuster in their “budget reconciliation” process. If they ever do, our country receives the final nail in the coffin.

Is The Dream Dead?

Democrats make no secret about trying to impeach Donald Trump. I mean, the whole reason behind it isn’t because Trump has done anything wrong. Every single investigation into his presidency and how he got there has yielded absolutely nothing. Millions of dollars, thousands of hours of time, and countless millions of allegations have all led to absolute bupkis when it comes to the number of credible charges that could be filed against him. And there is one sneaky little thing hanging in the balance.

In order to impeach and more importantly, convict Trump, not only to the Democrats need credible proof that he indeed broke the law. They need a Democrat led Senate.

And that’s not likely to happen in 2020.

There have been a lot of folks that have been groomed to run for the Senate from various regions of the country in 2020. As of yet, all of the heavy hitters have said no. John Hickenlooper of Colorado, Stacey Abrams of Georgia, Cindy Axne of Iowa, Beto O’Rourke and Joaquin Castro of Texas, Steve Bullock of Montana have all turned down the request from Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee chair Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada and Minority Leader in the Senate, Chuck Schumer of New York.

Oh, they all have their reasons. Either they are running for their current positions, or they are entering the Democrats’ fray for President, but it doesn’t bode well for the Dems to want to take over the Senate. In 2020, there will be 34 seats up for grabs; 22 of them are currently held by the Republican party. If six seats flip, the Democrats would re-take control of the Senate. It’s basically the same type of scenario as what the Republicans just went through in 2018 when there were more Democrats than Republicans up for election…and the GOP only added two seats. Democrats would have to do a LOT better than that…and that doesn’t even come close to the number they’d need in order to convict Donald Trump should the House actually go through with impeachment.

And if the Dems are having a hard time convincing their “A Team” to run for the Senate, the chances of them taking over any of the Republican seats won’t be as great. That leaves a lot to be desired by the left. Oh, they may be competitive in some races, but a six seat swing out of 22 seats? That’s almost unheard of! It would take some major happening for that to collapse the Republican party, and there’s no way in hell short of a major White House scandal of Watergate proportions (not what Adam Schiff says is of Watergate proportions!) that would threaten a Trump presidency.

I don’t ever pretend to have a crystal ball, or to predict the future. I know facts, and the facts are that the Democrats may take a seat or two back that they lost, but the odds of them winning the Senate back are about as strong as the Detroit Lions or the Cleveland Browns winning next year’s Super Bowl.

In other words…ain’t gonna happen.

Carry on world…you’re dismissed!

Scrapping Tradition

When the House and Senate were set up by the Founding Fathers, they were supposed to be two entirely different bodies, comprised of different people, who looked at the same piece of legislation differently. The House was the “People’s House” because the members were directly elected by the people in the various districts. They would be more of a popular gauge as to what their constituents wanted. The Senate, meanwhile were originally appointed by the state legislatures, and would be more of the deliberative body. They would think, and debate, and mull things over…not making snap decisions. In the end, the Founding Fathers felt that would give both sides the ability to create laws, and yet, they wouldn’t be able to act too quickly or in haste.

Well, all of that is going to change should Democrats take over the Senate in 2020, and also maybe win the White House. As the Dem’s have done in years gone by with the confirmation process, they are looking at getting rid of the “filibuster”. It’s the time honored tradition whereby you can’t be interrupted on the Senate floor if you are speaking. Think of Mr. Smith Goes To Washington with Jimmy Stewart, where Smith filibusters and talks until he’s blue in the face. Think of Rand Paul filibustering six years ago (yes…it’s been that long ago) on drone strikes on US Citizens. That one went 13 hours.

Well, Democrats want to do away with needing 60 votes to get “cloture” or stopping debate on a bill. They think a simple majority is worth it. Of course, the Democrats have been busy lately trying to re-write the way everything political is done. They’ve wanted to lower the voting age to 16. However they want to raise the age of owning a gun. They want to do away with the Electoral College, which gives small states like Ohio, and Rhode Island, and the Dakota’s and my state of Arizona somewhat of a say in presidential elections, instead of having just the big states like California, New York, Texas, and Illinois having the most say because they have the most people.

And of course, they are scrapping about having only nine Supreme Court Justices because they are on the short end of that stick as well. They want to have 15 Justices, so in case they take over the White House, they can once again, reclaim the majority on the High Court.

All of these ideas are ludicrous. They are being bandied about simply because the Democrats see that they can’t win elections through normal balloting, so they have to tilt the playing field in their favor. Yes, some even want to give the illegal aliens living in this country the right to vote! How is it that you’re going to give someone that doesn’t even belong here the ability to decide who is going to represent them? If ICE found them, they’d be deported! That’s absolute insanity.

And yet, that’s the type of government you have waiting for you if the Democrats succeed in November, 2020. I have a very difficult time believing Americans really would allow that to happen, until I see a poll on MSN.com that says about 52% of people would like to do away with the Electoral College. Yikes! These people don’t have a clue why it’s there in the first place. They just think that a popular vote, which gives five states the right to elect the president regardless what the rest of the country felt, is a good thing. Talk about having your vote taken away and disenfranchising you! Of course, that would probably end up in the Supreme Court, which should call it unconstitutional. And there’s no way the left could pass a constitutional amendment to make it happen. No…the snowflakes are going to be left out on the cold on this one. Oh, it’s fun to listen to them make fools of themselves and banter all the blather we hear. But that’s what you get when you elect idiots to our nation’s capital to represent us!
