AOC Standing Firm

Usually when a politician of any experience makes a blunder, they quickly race to try and minimize the damage. Either a “walkback”, maybe even a full-blown apology is in order. However they do it, they know they’ve screwed up and they know they need to make things right with the voters.

However, this isn’t a normal politician, and these aren’t normal times. Folks in the Bronx in New York City made a terrible mistake electing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a former bartender and Boston University economics major who couldn’t find a job in econ to replace a long-time, and actually pretty effective legislator in Joe Crowley. And she’s taking a very not-normal approach to her latest gaffe.

When she came down against Amazon for basically treating it’s workers badly and making too much money on the backs of hard working proletariat, she sparked a massive outcry from New Yorkers. The reason was because Amazon basically decided they were going to reverse their decision to move their headquarters to New York and find a much friendlier confines. That cost New York, never a bastion of high employment and low cost of living, about 25,000 new jobs, and the taxes that would go along with them.

So, there appeared the other day right smack in the middle of Times Square, a billboard that will actually be up until next week saying, “Thanks For Nothing AOC!”

One would think after such an amazing cranking at the politician, she’d change her tune, or at the very least soften it. Not so, Joe. AOC doubled down, saying she’s glad they’re leaving. It would have been bad for all had they built their headquarters and spent $4 billion in wages in NYC! The Mayor of New York, the Governor of New York, New York’s other national legislators, while not all piling on, are certainly looking at their new colleague with skepticism and wondering what in hell is firing those neurons?

And so it goes. AOC is actually doing the right a huge favor. With most of the Democrat’s presidential field either announced socialists or extremely liberal, what Ocasio-Cortez is doing is showing the world just what socialism in this country would look like. It’s not very pretty, and I don’t believe it’s acceptable to most people. It certainly won’t be to the Millennials who have the best opinion of that type of governmental structure. I think once they got into it, the youth that had everything handed to them would back out quickly. After all…they seem to actually loathe sticking to bad decisions they’ve made. It’ll be interesting to see if the folks in the Bronx realize the mistake they’ve made in electing AOC, and decide in 2020 to give her the old bartending job back!

Carry on world…you’re dismissed!

  1. She’d probably be an OK bartender – although I don’t think she would listen to anyone’s problems – she seems to like to do all the talking!

Peel the layers of onion back and you still have that onion smell that makes your eyes water and that tells you that you better do something right away to stop from crying.

And that my friends is what AOC is all about – you have to take measures because this child cannot be taken seriously and doesn’t have all of her American values’ marbles for some reason. Maybe someone should ask her where she came about being a socialist. There has to be a paper trail somewhere. It is time to stop listening to this socialist and listen to the Constitution – because she is all about burning it up and taking away our freedom.
